2001 Ford F-250 SD - removing front axle?

Anyone know if there is a trick to removing the front axle?

Thanks, but he's trying to remove just the axle from the housing, not the entire housing which is what I believe is shown in that document.

Pretty sure you have to separate the ball joints and remove the knuckle.

the seal in front of the axle has to come out before the axle will. It will be destroyed upon removal. Just use a drift or something to bend it up and it will come out. the seal is used to seal the backside of the auto hub. The only place I have found in my area that stocks them is the dealer.
