Ok so Monday customer brings in a 97 Chevy Venture Van for oil change, I noted SES light on, recommended diag, customer went for it and ran down a EGR flow code, so did the diag farther and recommended new EGR, it did have EGR issues so I was happy as EGR issues can be a bitch.
Well tuesday the van gets towed in crank/no start from a it dieing at stop light and no restart.
So had to use jump box , got it in shop , charged battery and tested alternator. It was bad.
Well white shirt up front asks me if the battery WAS really bad. Heck I had tested it 4 times, it was still bad.
Well come in this morning, customer comes in and decided to not fix van and is going to have it towed, she is out in shop unloading it and asked if I knew anyone who would buy it for $100 as she really didnt want to spend more cash towing it.
I called buddy, he said give her money I had for his computer parts I was to pick up.
Well I was going to do the deal after work, but she came down to give me a reciept for it and have me give her half the money till she found title.
Well I was going to give her all the cash, and did. She got in hurry to give reciept and put my name on it.
Well boss gets mad, said I couldnt do that it would get P-- ---- in trouble.
He gets all mad, tells me I should look for another job BUT didnt fire me, gives me lots of grief, all for helping 2 people.
Now he tells me that I shouldnt call any of his customers, so now I guess I cant deal with about 2/3s of Bloomington.
So would anyone here think me simply telling a friend a car was for sale and telling woman she didnt have to spend anymore money on van to get it moved is wrong.
I honestly have nothing in deal except I have to probably help guy fix van later after he finds alternator for it.
Well except I have been carrying his cash around for a week and gave it to person he told me too.
So I intend to keep under radar and see if it blows over, but gee I only help a customer who asked and my boss lost a feww hundered bucks as my friend will never buy there ever, and also my brother said it too.
