I'm putting together my 67 GTO. Motor has been rebuilt, insky cam, original 670 heads, edelbrock performer intake and Holly 770 street avenger carb. I'm looking for the right distributor, coil, ignition box combo. Any suggestions and thoughts appreciated.

I would go with a vacuum advance distributor. I wish I would have.

I would get a HEI with adjustable mechanical advance, and vacuum advance. Boxes are just another thing that can go wrong, and don't really do much except clean up an idle due to a large cam. And that can be done also with just the distibutor by reducing the mechanical advance curve, and dialing in more initial advance.

I'd also look into the MSD E-Curve... easily adjustable curves (no springs or bushings), built in rev limiter, no box, and has a vacuum advance feature. I'm pretty sure they have a Pontiac version.

That's the one I wanted to recommend, but it doesn't appear there's a Pontiac version yet.

That sucks.. they are really nice and easy to tune, and with a black cap and wires, they look stock!
