Rims for my Riviera

Hi guys, well I have a Riviera that I am getting ready for the next Goodguys show. Its a cruiser so I never asked about it here till now.

I ordered a set of rims 4 weeks ago that I was told would fit but they didn't. Luckily the dealer wwas willing to take them back. Never mounted tires.

My problem is the hub center, I am told no one makes a hub center to fit. Here I am 4 weeks away from the show and no luck.

My thoughts are to
1)find 4x4 rims to work...not hub centric.
2) Have hub centric adapters made so I can run standard chevy stuff. 2 week job
3) have rims made and pay the price. Doubt I can have them by the 30th though.

specs needed for 1965 Buick Riviera:
20 x 8.5 front 4.5 back space for 245's
20 x 10 rear 4.5 back space for 295's
5x5 lug pattern

Im leaning towards choice #2 but help please. If anyone knows a brand/style other than Foose Nitrous or any other TTII style rim.

Just as a place to start, I think you will find that the '65 Riviera is the same as the '61 - '64 C-body stuff.

I used Coys C5's, 20 x 8.5, 20 x 10's. Any descent machine shop should be able to machine out the center of the wheel for the over sized Buick size. My car is on bags.

Nick that Riv is sweet. Very nice. I want to get away from the TTII look. Looking for a semi low rider look but make a bigger spoke. Nothing too gaudy.

I was hoping for a set of Famosa type look but with open lugs.

Well I noticed that my 2 rear wheels started life as 5 x 4.75 and they where machined to the bigger bolt pattern (5 x 5) and special steel lug nut seats installed (apparantly a common practice) That may be an option for you.

Hey Vince, Not sure what your budget is but if you want another set of Rushforths, we'll get you all taken care of in your timeframe and your hub diameter is no issue. We'll bore them to the specs before the design is cut in.

I found a smokin deal on some like new Billet Specialties wheels on a sport truck message board for my 65 Rivi I used to have. They were 5 on 5 right off a 88-98 chevy truck. They bolted right on my car with no issues.

Thanks bro, I saw your post this morning at work and I called my local rim guy. I still have to verify the hub diameter. Just measured it tonight and it is 2.782in/70.68mm on the Riv. Now I have to see what the 2wd Chev is.

I hope to get something going soon. Chrome gets back on Monday.


Its funny, no matter how far in advance you plan there is always something to push it into a last min build. :enguard:

I appreciate all the help on this. No more hard to find parts cars...back to Chevy's and Mustangs after this. I promise.

I have a 72 Buick LeSabre for a daily driver. It has a 5x5 BP like your Riv. I bought a set of Coddington wheels about 3 years ago. Havent had any issues yet. I dont know if you can get the backspacing that you want tho. My wheels are 18x9 with 5.25bs rear and 5.5bs front. Those rims look great on your car. Very nice.
I could not find a rim with my desired offset so I opted to go with 0.
