We finalized the ride height and are dry fitting the Air ride, double checking all clearances and turning radius, a few minor adjustments to the 4 link and some front end work and we will be a solid rolling chassis! Very happy to be reaching this point in the project. :smoke:

Great lookin car.... is the rear gonna come down a bit? It looks slightly raked....
Our intent is to get the car as level as possible, this is where we will do some adjusting to the 4 link set up the top 2 links need to be repositioned slightly to give the center section a bit more clearnce, a quick easy fix and well worth the time,
I want the rear fender to sit in relation to the rim the same as the front, and then when we let the air out we should be pretty slammed, there is a few more suprises in the works as well which is going to really set off the side appearance. Im in the process of getting a quality rendering done as well as deciding on a name. I was considering "Project Panty Drop" but I think someone has already used it?

New rendering of the car, there is more work being done but this is a great example of what we are going for both with style and ride,
since this last update we have reworked several things to lower the car an addtional 2 inches, i will update with those pictures very soon

there is a few changes to the rendering yet to come, I am stayting true to the 67 and leaving the wing widows which are not in the rendering, regading the door handles: we have them currently removed but in able to run the strip or track I will need to figure soemthing out (remote cable) as it is required locally, Hopefully i will have the final rendering next week with all features

mostly just the stance. We are building a 19 20 car and to get the body to be as low as it looks in the rendering. It tucks a bunch of wheel and the wheel cant be just inside the rear quarter because of the way the quarter and outer wheel tub is designed. The car does look great though.

In the rendering. It looks like there will be a piece added to the rocker to make it the illusion of being lower than it is. I think so far they have hit the rendering very closely. Great job. Looking forward to the rest of this build.

correct, we will be putting a rocker extention on the car, I will be updating very soon with alot of pictures which will show the extensive modifications that we have made to get the car the past few months to allow it to sit that low, but I assure you the car will sit exactly as the rendering.

Wheels / Tires
Forgline ZX3P
20 x 12 rear 19 x 9 front
Pirelli PZero Rosso
345/25 x 20 rear
255/35 x 19 front
Regarding how low it will go: The last picuture is the car at ride height, so it will go almost 2" lower with no air in the system. I would love to see a picutre of your car at ride height and with it lowered. Pretty impressive to get it that low if without some modifications.

Hey Scott,
I think you're right... There is NO way a 950 car is going to flow enough for that size engine...
You have enough cam there for a lot bigger numbers... I didn't see your pistons but I am assuming they are flat tops (10.5:1 roughly - depending on the brodix head's combustion chambers)...
There have been PLENTY of testing recently where you really don't lose too much streetability with the correct Dominator, especially if it is one that has been worked on... With that engine, I doubt a 1050 would be sufficient without some additional cfm work... I have a re-worked 1050 that now flows 1250 cfm... That would work really nicely...
My bet with a tweaked, not stock, Dominator your engine would definitely be between 870hp and 900hp... :6gears:

Agreed, it will be interesting to see how it works out, once we get the car on the road then the dialing in for more HP will begin, and a larger carb or EFI is in the plans. Its going to be hard enough to keep this the tires from spinning as is..

But there is substantial differences in the transition lines from your avatar. Is that car built yet? I would love to see some pictures other then renderings. I looked on your web site but couldnt find any picutres. very nice car indeed.:twothumbs

No it never got built. Quality of the work other people did before I started my business was not up to my standards and rather than cut it apart for the 4th time, I sold it to save my sanity.
There are bigger shots of the car on Chris' site. And no, it is not the same, just thought it may have been the one you might have been referring too. I do have several pics of other cars I have saved where my rendering had been copied down to everything except the transition on the nose, so that particular scheme will probably never get built, no matter how much I like it.
It is very hard to reinvent the wheel. To do something today that stands above the rest is a lot harder than it used to be. I think you are heading in the right direction.

Love the build and the work done to the car!
Just curious, are you set on doing a 2 tone. Dont get me wrong your car do what makes you happy. But it would seem that today everybody is doing a 2 tone just cuz. To me that car is to clean to mess it up with a paint line. The lines flow to well to make something that doesnt need to be there.
But hey that is just my opinion and everbody has one. Cant wait to see this car done.

Hey Scott,
This page on Bowler's site lists the transmission ratios when coupled with a Gear Vendor's O/D...
I would be interested to see what the gear spread will be on this transmission... I went with the TH400/Gear Vendors route because I didn't know of any alternatives at the time... I recently found out about TCI's revamped 4L80 that was converted into a 6-speed... I hadn't heard about Bowler doing it...
I'll be very interested in how you like it and what the gear spreads are...
Keep up the great work! :1st:

I talked to Dan a couple of weeks ago about my project... He didn't offer up a "trial fit" like that... My old set of 2" primary/3-1/2" collector headers were from a 67-69 Camaro... I don't know if I could get that lucky and have their larger models fit and clear my frame rails without modification... That was nice of him to ship prior to weld-out and coating to look for any clearance issues... If I can do that it might just keep me from having to get a custom set built from scratch!

Hey guys sorry for the delay in responding to this post. First Scott I want to thank you for your trust in our company. The gear ratios in our 4L80-E Six Speed is; 2.97, 2.23, 1.57, 1.18, 1.00, 0.75
Many people do not understand this setup, many think it is a 4L80-E with a Gear Vendor and others feel that it is the the 6L80-E transmission. This is a pretty simple concept that was done years ago and is not new technology. John Meany done this several years ago along with Jet Performance having a version as well. The idea didn't go over as well as thought initially due to the gear ratios of the original transmission, it didn't make too much sense to split the gears. Today with better gear ratio planetary gear sets now available it has become more vaild to split the gears making a close ratio 6 speed. Along with giving you a better first gear ratio compaired to the original 2.48:1 ratio. Keep in mind this does not change your final overdrive ratio, to do this you would have to go with a Gear Vendor unit.
TCI has recently came out promoting their new 6X version of this package, they have taking advantage of their marketing power and made this the latest and greatest transmission to have. Which is great for them. We just do not have the budgets to market the way they do. We have this package available. Many ask what is the difference between TCI and Bowler's, TCI builds a good transmission, I am not here to put any one down. We feel we put the personal attention to each transmission and use the best quality parts that can be used. On our 4L80E Six Speed we use the following componets that others do not use, Billet 300M Input Shaft, Billet 300M Intermediate Shaft, Billet Forward Clutch Hub, 36 Element Intermediate Sprag, Stage II Frictions, Blue Printed Pump, Blue Printed Valve Body, All New OEM GM Solenoids along with a few of our own secrets.
I hope I have answered the questions that was needed and cleared up a few items on the Six Speed package. If you have other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Mark

There are a number of cars running them up high on this site... I wonder why they haven't had problems?
Probably because they don't run their tanks down far enough for it to be a problem. This style of pump has very low suction on the draw by nature. Centrifugal pumps don't have this problem, but they are a lot louder generally due to the more exposed body of the motor. They also run hotter, but don't add any heat to your fuel. I did a big study on pump design when I was working on a liquid chilling project a couple years ago. The output pressure and the pumping distance on this style of pump makes it perfect for fuel pumps though.

Thanks everyone.. I am very pleased with the paint... regarding the drip rails...be sure to install you side glass and weatherstripping, check clearance when you close the door with the window up, its an easy thing to over look especially if you extend the edge down to encase the trim that holds the weather strip along the drip rail.

How am I supposed to sleep after seeing this now!? I'm too excited now! Is the front valance a breakaway piece? Buddy of mine made a cnc valance for his BMW M3, and made it so it would easily break away from the bumper because of his ride height...and it paid off. It would have trashed his front bumper otherwise. This car is pure class. I think you've just nailed down my dream car. 800+ft/lbs on pump gas will straight move that car. An old customer of mine had a third gen camaro with a 632 big block that put down around 1250 to the wheels, but it was all race gas. Fun car though! Keep up the awesome work!

I dont plan on taking any speed bumps with it slammed, or even driving it like that, just parking.. at ride height it should be ok, a break away splitter might have some negative effects if it decided to proceed to get drove over after breaking away, I have an idea of making one out of either fiber glass or carbon fiber once the car is complete, that way if something did strike the splitter it would hopefully just dent, scratch, nick or damage it and not the valace. Right now i just want the car done for a few shows that are coming up in the next few months... FYI i have not slept in 4 years and yesterday was no exception after finally putting the body on the chassis... more update soon as assembly progresses..

Few more updates, We got the body fully mounted and are starting the plumbing, also had to make a brake pedal to accommodate the steering column and offer the more traditional AT size foot pad...
