OK... let me start this off with do NOT purchase anything from Procarparts or OttoR racing ever. There customer service and products are a joke. They are just out to make a quick buck by flooding the markets with cheap products.

Long story short they sold me a pair of racing seats about a year and a half ago. Finally got my car running and able to use the seats about a month ago. 3 weeks into using the seats the drivers seats beings to move a little to the side and sway nearly 6 - 8 inches front and back. I dismantled the seat todiscover that on the right hand side both frame rails, which is hollow steal tubing, had SNAPPED! I dont even know how such a thing should be possible.

Needless to say i called the company and emailed them pictures of the frame. i was told that because my warrenty on the seat had expired they would only offer me a 10% discount on a replacement seat!!! are you freaking kidding me! I explained that this wasnt some small problem this was a safety issue and I told them i didnt want a replacement i just wanted them to fix my seat at their shop or to pay someone to weld it back together. After being to told to hold on minute while they checked with their boss i did not recieve a return phone call. I called them back (five days later) to basically be told to go pound sand.

Can you believe this!? its two SNAPPED frame rails! how is it even possible to do that? Can u image what would have happened to me if i had crashe while using that seat? I wouldnt like to know.

IM thinking about suing the company in californias small claims court for the cost of the seat and all court costs. What do you guys think I should do. I now have no drivers seat and cant afford a new one right now...

What do you want us to say? You said it yourself... you bought a cheap inferior product from a company with poor customer service only out to make a dollar. Sounds like AIM. They've been pulling that crap for years with the sport truck crowd.

Small claims court? To what point? You said so yourself, your warranty expired. You can try to argue with the judge that the seat doesn't meet safety standards, but they're billing it as a racing seat, so who says it has to be street legal?

Put a slug in it and weld it, or save up for some different seats. Used to be able to get a set for $50 if you pull'm yourself around here (cloth).

I agree with Mathius, just repair the seat and cut your losses until you can get some new seats. Chalk it up to experience. Why waste more of your time pursuing the company. It will only make you more frustrated. I'd be looking for a set of used production car seats from a salvage yard.

Good luck and sorry to hear about your misfortune.
