I'm trying to determine my wheel set up. I'm thinking of 18X8 up front and 18 X 9.5's in the rear. The GTO's suspension is set up by Mark at SC&C using the stage 2 plus kit, spc springs, rear control arms, etc. The car will be lowered between 1.5 "- 2". I'm looking for a nice tire set up. Any suggestions and opinions are greatly appreciated.

I really like the look of a 19,20 setup myself. Checkout Rushford Wheels website and there are some pics of a sweet 67 tempest running 19,20's.

Even an 18,19 looks killer JMO!

20" is just too big IMO on that body 18/18 or 18/19 is perfect. If you wait a week or so I should have some pics of my 66 Cutlass together and on the ground finally. I used all sc&c stuff and went with 18 x 9 / 18 /10 on mine with 255-40-18 / 285-40-18 tires

Thanks for the props! Here is an updated picture. I decided to powder coat the centers in black because I thought it better matched the car since it was mostly black with not a whole lot of chrome.

They were originally brushed aluminum, but I thought it was just too much with the car mostly being black. So I sent the wheels back to DriverzInc and they had the centers powder coated in black.

I also have a 67 GTO and am currently wheel shopping too. I think im gonna go the the rushfords super spoke. But i will be going 17 in the front and 18s in the rear. I live in chicago and streets are not as nice as you guys in California. Otherwise 19s and 20s would be an option for me. Good luck. Any ideas of what wheel you will go with? I also have an air ride suspension. So when I drop the car, 17s and 18s will look big enough.

Looks great either way. I am starting with polished and if I get bored in a year or so I can always powdercoat them for a new look.

Yeah, that is a pretty cool way to bring a whole new look to an existing set of wheels. Just send them out and have the finish changed or color changed. I didn't even know that was possible until DriverzInc made me aware of it.

Actually during the mockup phase of my wheels they fitted my car with a Supers Spoke wheel and it looked killer!! I went with the Strutter as that was the newest wheel in the Rushforth line at the time and they asked if I wanted to be the first to sport the new wheel.

I almost went with strutter and changed to livewires at the last minute.

The wheel choice is always so hard, huh? All of you did a great job though....

For anyone needing help with custom wheel fitment, please do feel free to call. We can help with what fits, and work with you despite what modifications you may be making. We've got Johnny's wheel fitting very nicely, and have stuffed a 10" wide wheel in the rear. They fit so well, he races on them:

Here is another good photo of Johnny's car outside the DriverzInc booth at Good Guys:

Jon,

Do you remember what the backspacing is on my wheel after we adjusted it?

Thanks!
