Just announced
How did Volvo out Pro-Tour the big 3??
Powering the beast is a 4.4-liter V8 borrowed from a Volvo XC90 SUV that's been force-fed by a turbocharger and routes its 600 horses through a six-speed manual transmission to the rear wheels.

it needs a better name than "P1800" if it wants to be called "Pro Touring".

OMG!!!:drool::jawdrop::jawdrop::hail::hail:That's so right on the spot! P1800 sounds more than adequate to me!
According to a report by Auto Express, this custom Swede is slated to enter small-scale production at some unspecified date in the future.

That's because it's the same guy building it. The guy is young too... early 20s I think. Very talented builder/designer.
BTW, would P1800 be more worthy if it was making 1800 horsepower?

The P1800 wagon is cool too.
The wagon is cool as hell. The concept is sex on wheels.
BADASZ ...there goes the prices of 1800's!!!! There was/is a member here building one ....
Indeed.
Beautiful cars, both the wagon and coupe. I'm quite fond of the P1800es, and would love to eventually get my mits on one. $4,000.00 for one in fairly decent condition. That rendering is awesome.
A good article on the Volvo 4.4L http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2004/12/14/303081.html. "...V8 that is just 754 mm long and 635 mm wide,...weighs just 190 kg,...315 horsepower and its torque is a massive 440 Nm at 3900 r/min" seems engineered around fuel economy and emissions, I would imagine there's 0 aftermarket support for this mill.

That's not much bigger than a S2000 engine.
If I ever do my Cat 7 build I'm gonna have to seriously consider that

I knew a mechanic 25 years ago that was a big Volvo freak, he had a bunch of Volvos, an old wagon and a white 1800 with a red interior. I always thought those old Volvos were really stylish.
The funny thing was the guys last name was Buick!!!
I was really impressed with the Bill Snow Volvo.

It seems like they borrowed the styling from the early 60's Ferrari's.
Works for me!

Unlikely they 'borrowed' early 60's Ferrari's styling, since the first car shipped on 1960. More likely, since the car was styled by Frua (Ghia), there was alot of cross-talk at styling houses. People worked for people then worked for other people.

Not the old Volvo, the proposed car this thread is about.
Here's a '61 Ferrari that sold for $10,950,000 last May.

I would have to say that car has some of the most beautiful body lines. Most of the body mods in the rendition are subtle and only highlight the lines that already exist.. I have always wanted one, and have been in the process of dealing for one in my area for awhile.. I guess I am going to have to pay what they want..ha ha.
It is hard to believe that Volvo went from that, to the boxy lines of all the later cars.. I think they should have kept a line of car that played off of that style.

Evolve doesn't even offer support for it (yet).

Back in '04 when my buddy bought his S40, I tried to talk him into a chip, DP, and full exhaust. He said, sure, if I paid for it. :hand: It appears they have expanded their line of products to cover most of Volvo's fleet.
I loved what that guy did to the Volvo wagon. His concept of the P1800 coupe is going to be amazing if he continues the quality of his previous design.

Uh....you are kidding right?
only half way.. if it's gonna be real "Pro Touring" it's gotta have a name that has at least one number in the place of a vowel.
"P1800" is like a fighter plane model designation- or a name for a production European car, which this seems to kind of be.

Having Owned a Volvo for 11 years I'll pass. I agree it's beautiful but it will be no fun with it sitting in a shop all it's life or dealing with the Check engine light glaring at you constantly.
Now give me an old one with a LS in it and that's a different story!

Technically, if you follow Volvos naming format from the time, it should be called a 4400E. (4.4L, Electronic Fuel Injection)
But
Volvo BM already used it for this.

It's an amazing rendition done by CYAN Racing.
https://www.cyanracing.com/news/2020/09/02/revealing-the-volvo-p1800-cyan
Introduced in Sept. 2020, they're not prototypes but High-End Restomods of original Volvo P1800s.
Cyan will build your P1800; if you don't own one, they will locate one for you. According to the reviewers I've seen, they start at $500,000.00.
Pricing and individual specification is available for prospective clients:

P1800s are cool. Super pretty.
But the slammed, massive wheels don't suit the lines of the car.
