So I had to work all weekend and missed the track-day at Willow, missed time working on the car, missed time hanging out with my wife, and I was having a pretty crappy day at work.
Out of the blue I get an email from Jake

If that don't cheer ya right up nothing will.

i will post some pics of a few nasa tt c5 vettes with all the goodies, headed cammed ls7's, hoosier slicks etc, they couldnt get by me in the corners, the back straight is where they got me, i only have a asa cammed ls1, 440 hp, saw 150 mph on the back straight before braking going into the bus stop
they couldnt believe it was a 69 camaro running, we ran one day in the rain then the next day was nice, i ran some 2 14s on r888s, this is on the big track including the boot, it is just over 3 miles.

I could tell he had more snort down the straight. They are really stiff competition locally on the autocross as well. When I pulled up for the Autocross last Sunday, the guys with the scooby doos were like "Are you really going to run that thing?"

yeah theres 2-3 real goos wrx's in the club, at nhms i run1/2 sec faster then them which is cool because nhm sis a momentum track, but he ran 3/4 sec faster then me at watkins because of the 50-60 hp he had on me.
there good cars

They are indeed. And AWD definitely has it's advantages. They're born pretty sorted out cars, adding mods to them is insanely effective. Which just goes to show how good your car and driving skills are Jake.

thanks, i got my time trial license early this year and is transferable to nasa and other venues with a check ride,
the car is completely sorted, and a ball on the track, turn key dependable, just add plenty of fuel and brake pads.

Damn Jake. Looks like a blast going around the track. And it's got paint on it to!!! Looks a little better than the car I saw in Tennessee. I can't wait to see some update pics.

I'm walking out the door to go take back to back final exams. I'm glad I watched this. Great video. The car looks like it was hauling.
I'm glad you told us the specs on the subbie. I could see it rocketing out of the turns. I figured it had to modified for you to run down a C5 and then have the subbie pull on you so hard.
Thanks again for sharing Jake and True.

ws6, the subie did not pull my car that hard, corner exit speed and aggressiveness play big time into that, look how hard we came up on the c6 z06 leaving the esses onto the back straight.
i am on r888s he has more power and slicks. he ran 3/4 sec faster then me at the glen.
it was fun, we only had 15 mins of open track after the time trials, and we were cat and mouse the whole time, he was the mouse this time, lol

Great video. I've walked that track and been going there since the 70's as a spectator. What a rush. Love the view through the rear mirror too! Good going, Jake.

I was referring mainly to his exits from the corners. Sorry, I shouldn't have been in such a rush typing. As for him pulling, I meant that he was actually able to keep up with you on the straights. No stock WRX or EVO has the power to stay in front of a built LSx on a straight unless it's a short straight.

asa ls1 crate race motor
ls1, bee hive springs, asa cam, dry sump oil system,3 row radiator with oil cooler, 3 inch exhaust, full tailpipes,

And you say it's making 440hp? Is that Crank or wheel horsepower?
3 inch exhaust? Hmm, any mufflers? Or is it just open with full length pipes? Headers?
I ask because I'm looking at building a LS1 myself for my car. Just trying to get ideas on setups.

its a asa crate race motor built by gm and provided to asa late model circle track race car guys, fully tuned, dry sump etc. gm rates it at 440 hp, i assume it does about 400 to the wheels, as the stock ls1's were 340 and 315 at the wheels.
i have an entire manual on engine, part numbers etc for this, asa, and gm made a thorough guide for these motors.
the asa cam is popular among c5 vette road races etc running in class's where they can't change motor size etc
custom built 1.75 4-1 headers, race bullet mufflers

Hey Jake,
I'm sorry I don't know the history on your car... I haven't been around long enough I guess... What's the tire/wheel combination you use for the track?
Awesome looking AND performing car! Sure looks like a LOT of fun!! :twothumbs:bananna2::cool:
