Anyone hear good things about Wyo Tech

As my enlistment with the Marines comes to a close I am considering a career in the motorsports industry and wondered if anyone has good things to say about Wyo Tech in Wyoming? Along with their core classes they offer some specialty courses in custom fabrication, street rods, and performance engines.

You're going to hear both sides of the story on the internet. Personally, I have 2 friends who went there. One works at Skinny Kid Race Cars in Michigan doing what he loves and making big money. The other just does some custom painting on the side. It's all what YOU make of it while you're there.

I went to WYOMING TECH..... 10 years ago for diesel engines.. WOW.. this school was huge then.. NOW its even bigger... They have an awsome hot rod class there.. wish i would have taken it..

I went there for diesel.. BUT WORK ON CARS.... Go figure...

The school is awsome... NO DOUBT!!

WHen i was there, they were building up a old Ferari.. and stuck a V-8 into a 55 BUG..

they were building a 3 wheel chopper with a big block.. and an old VICKI car..

It's hard to make the most of it while you are there when they teach you very very very basic skills! ya they teach you how to weld, how sand paper is made, how to properly apply filler, what hvlp stands for, and they pretty much hold your hand while you do everything! Personally, I went there to learn more than that! It is a very basic school

Travis, your complaint with the school was it was geared more towards someone with little experierence in the automotive industry? I can understand that with their core classes but what about their specialty courses like performance engines and street rods? Know if they take the same hand holding technique?

I'm not dissing this as I'm an enthusiast looking to learn so this may be right where I need to be.

It is a very good school to go to if you are a beginner! They will teach you everything you need to know to get started! If already have some experience in what your interested in then it is not a good school! They additional classes are the same way! everystep you take is watched!
