View Full Version : Cooled down starter still hot, wont start

I Drove car to store car won't start with a jump. Battery is showing full power. Car has cooled off and starter motor is extremely hot. The Solenoid kicks hard I'm, stuck may need to call for a trailer any suggestions.

sounds like its grounding out inside. and will prob not be rebuildable. if you were closer id come help you out. sory to hear it.

A guy brought his trailer for me to use and once we got it on this is what the problem was. looks like the starter was engaged from the time I left home (about 15 miles)https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif

Probably needs to be shimmed out.

No it is still hanging up. I am running a mid plate so that makes the distance even greater.

So why are you using the aftermarket starter,,, are you using a large flywheel or small one, if large one just go buy the small frame starter for a 94 K2500 w 350 AZ part number DLG9990S. I have seen these start 572 big blocks with extra compression and never give a problem, but you do need bolts from dealer. And the AZ starter has lifetime warranty.
Honestly I have more problems with these aftermarket units than I care to mention.
