Lockup in a regular 350??

Hey guys.. I'm new here and will be posting my intro in the intro forum but I have a quick question at the moment. I have a th350 going into my 79 malibu for now to get it running. The issue I'm having is I'm going w/a 3k stall and I only have 3.42 gears in the rear... I am a little worried about heat build up on the highway and around town as the car is a cruiser w/little track duty. Is there a way to make my regular th350 work w/a lock up converter? Sorry for the newb question. PS Great site!

Not that I'm aware of.

Run an additional cooler and you'll be fine. I run a TH400 with 3.42 gears and a flash of 3000rpm and it's fine.

buy a lock up th 350 , getting hard to find. They made them lat 70s early 80s till 700r4 came out
