im looking for some cool side mirror ideas for my 69 camaro.
The body is very sleek and everything is shaved, so it needs to fit that profile. plus i personally think the giant gaudy chrome dome originals are disgusting looking. I ned something a little more modern looking...

any ideas???

heres what they would be goin on...

major hurdle for you will be that you didnt have the holes filled for the originals so you are limited in mounting location...

if you want something small and low profile you could look in chopper mags or simular product for custom bikes, they have options, try Arlen Ness products for starters, just a thought good luck, i like the color you got going on there with your 69 though

I've seen some 1st gen camaros with second gen bullet mirrors. I think they look good. Since they are painted the body color, they blend in well.

But, the chopper mag idea is a good one too. Do a search on ebay for billet mirrors, their are a ton of em on there.

if you want a sleek modern look, I have seen good results with 92-99 Buick Le Sabre mirrors. I put them on my Chevelle and used the stock hole to route the wiring... Not the best pic but....

They cost me $16 each from the local pick-a-part. Do a google search for more pics....

When I built this 68 Camaro. I used the Mirrors off of a 2005 Corvette. This car is also shaved and sleek No handles, No Locks, No Marker lights, No Drip Rails, Narrowed Rear Bumper, No Front Bumper, No Window Trim, ect. Personally I like them, but I probably should have worked on the base a little more to bring them in tighter. That was a major critism by the pictures. In person, they look just fine and fit the look of most of the modern cars, since mirrors have gotten bigger.

I used third gen mirrors. Have to build up the base to get them to fit.

I used third gen nova mirrors but I had to re drill the holes. I do have a set of second gen camaro bullet mirrors. Let me know if you are interested.

I used 93 Buick mirrors, they don't stick out as far as the vette mirrors and the angle matches the a post. I think they pictures in my PT Garage during mock up.

This '69 vert was built by Year One and was the Popular Hot Rodding May 2009 cover car. I liked the look of these mirrors and bought a pair for my Javelin. They're called Hollywood Smoothie Mirrors from Speedway motors: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Hollywood-Mirrors,2263.html less than $70 for the pair.

I'd like to use Porsche 993 mirrors(mid 90's 911) but they are just too expensive. I don't think one of these cars will ever end up in the pick 'n pull!
