I was wondering how I might go about running an oil pressure guage with out drilling my ls1 block. If I hook up an electrical guage to the oil switch in the back of the motor will this work?

The ecu does not use the oil pressure sensor. Unless you are using the LS1 gauges, just replace the sensor with the one from your new gauge.

There's a boss down by the oil filter that can be drilled easily. It's a separate part that bolts on so no worries about ruining the block or anything.

I actually added a pipe thread y-block and put oil temp and oil pressure sending units there.

You can buy this kit which has several adapters included.
Equus - Oil Pressure and Electronic Temp. Metric Adapter Kit (9848)
Many places sell it but here is the first link I found
http://www.amazon.com/Equus-Pressure-Electronic-Metric-Adapter/dp/B000GKD5TM

This will allow you to install after market gauges for the oil and water temp in a LS eng. The oil as noted is on the top rear were the original sending unit is. The temp gauge sending unit can be placed in the pass head on the side at the rear. There is a plug that can be removed.
