i have a 69 camaro running a LT1 engine and T56 tranny. I have all Autometer gauges, the speedo is a mechanical counting unit, not electronic. The gauges worked perfectly with my old oringinal 307 but not that i have the LT1 im noit sure how to hook up the gauges. Does anyone know of a cable to attach the speedo to the T56?
also does anyone know how to hook up my RPM gauge> I have no clue, ive heard maybe attaching it to an ECM wire???

The ecm has a tach output wire that should operate your tach. Ill have to go and check mine to find exactly what pin is the tach feed. I dont know about the t56, im running a 4l60e.

There is a company that makes a different tail shaft on the T56 to adapt it to mechanical drive, costs over $300. Or there is a box you can get the uses the electronic signal from the tranny & then outputs a mechanical signal to drive the speedo (I haven't heard many good things about those). Or buy a matching Autometer speedo that is electronic.

By the time the housing is swapped or a stand-alone box is used an electronic speedometer could have been purchased or modified to fit. The electronic speedometer also work a bunch better. The CableX setup is not all that great.

The 13th pin on the Red Plug is the Tach output.

Another vote for getting the electronic piece (one that goes in tranny for VSS) or just get another speedo. Pretty easy and cheaper to swap it out. What series and size gauges are you running right now?
