I was interested if anyone else is experiencing this problem and if they have a fix?

My 69 Camaro’s Baer Sport rear disc brake, parking brake will not hold on a slope (driveway 8 degree angle)? The parking assembly will apply bust will not hold with sufficient force to stop the car from rolling on a slight incline.

Pad are adjusted correctly just touching, set screw adjusted correctly, calipers have been replaced, complete new factory cable adjusted, added Lokar’s E-brake cable, both brakes are applying, pedal travel is about ½ to ¾ the way. I can not press it further without bending the pedal assembly. The rear calipers are centered on the rotor and I have tried replacement pads following the bedding procedure. The brakes stop fine when using the normal brake pedal.

Note: I did test another 69 Camaro with the same setup. When the pedal was fully depressed a friend and I could still push the Camaro without great difficulty.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

My wilwoods will hold it on any incline but it does take some pedal pressure. I never was a fan of that set up on factory cars. Check your line routing and for any resistance in the system.

That caliper, the same as the 4th-gen LT1, does not hold well. I too have the same problem. There's no good cure.

That's why GM changed to the LS1 style integral drum parking brake in the later 4th-gen's.

Exactly why I am a Wilwood dealer. The repackaged factory brakes just don't do it for me. And the E brake set up is a big part of that.

Agree with Frank. I'm running the Baer stuff on my '68 Camaro and have the same issue. If i were to do it again i'd run Wilwood for sure.
Sorry!

We re routed the parking brake lines, and my baer's will hold at almost any degree. Not a big fan of wilwoods myself for racing.

I have heard about this being a common issue on several message boards, that's why I choose the "LS1" brakes instead of the "LT1" brakes.

Sorry, but I don't think it will ever work really good.

I have re-routed all the lines and replaced them 3 times. nothing has worked. Thanks for all the replies! Scott
