What's with the vents by the radiator top plate?

Very nice!

What's with the vents by the radiator top plate?

GM had that space for a purpose as it allowed movement of air over the engine and not just through the radiator. By putting in the vents instead of totally blocking it off I still get some air flow along the hood line. Its set up so that I could attach hoses and pickup cool air via the bumper/parking lights - with the induction hoses it would throw a fair amount of cool air along the hood line and towards the air cleaner. I haven't done this step yet. Having said that ....My guess is it really doesn't make a difference - just me overthinking closing it off completely.
