I went to a local gathering of muscle cars here locally last Saturday and was looking at a '69 Camaro that was really nice. I noticed that the drip rails had been filled in and had a fillet. The drip rails were not removed, it looks like they were filled in with filler and was radiused from the top to the drip rail. I'm sorry I didn't get any pictures of it but I know where this car is and could get some. I thought this was a really neat looking idea. Anyone else seen anything like this?

I am currently in the middle of reworking the drip rails on my 67, what we have done so far is to tack the 2 sections together after installing a new roof skin, we are dry-fitting the weatherstripping and going to weld a half-round pcs of steel rod to binding the 2 sections together, the 1/2 round will be modified to give a smooth contour from the roof to the window rubber, this will allow us to only come out far enough to cover the rubber and have a very smooth transition. I will be sure to post some pictures, as we progress with this.

Steve,
Been so busy with the chassis and suspension lately this has been pushed to the side, our goal is to get the chassis all dialed in and ready for plumbing, paint and such, then pull it away from the car and have 2 crews. 1 prepping chassis and doing final welding, and 1 crew finishing up the metal work. I will definetly post pictures when we get back to the drip rails. should be early to mid June. (I hope)

Getting a smooth bead of seam sealer in those drip rails is a real pain. I did one side and I'm not too happy with the way it looks. I'm open for any ideas.

maybe im missing it, but is there more than just the fact of the water rolling off the roof while getting in and out? if its raining, im going to get wet anyways. only asking because this is the plan.

I'd like to fill mine in and make them smooth .
I'm about to put a roof skin on the '69 .
Maybe I'll do it over the winter ..
I'll put up some pics ..
