I wanna know how the driver sees where he is going? Is there some sort of angled mirror on the roof or something?

Funny you say that, somewhere around 81, or 82, there was a blue 62 Nova in Car Craft, same set up, but much much more taste ful, almost looked stealth, except for the blower stickin, up, does anyone remember that car called Overkill ? Im gunna search right now and see if I can post a pic.

When the induction system is as high or higher than the roof line your car is automatically cool no matter what.
I remember seeing that Nova that you guys are talking about in one of the mags. Seems the text said something about the owner running into something on the pass side front cause they couldnt see the obstruction due to the blower.
Both cars are not what Id call daily drivers or my style but either one would still be loads of fun to drive occassionaly for the ooh ahh factor or ending up at a stop light idling next to a winged body kitted import.

iam a old man.:guilty: The 65 nova was featured in over 85 magazines

Dobertin also built that Pontiac J2000 with the full tilting body, and blowers on top of blowers. He then went on to build an amphibious vehicle from a milk tanker trailer, something I know a thing or two about, and DROVE around the world!

Frank,
Are you that old? or did you just read about it in some archives?
I remember when the J2000 was in Hot Rod or Car Craft and I thought then " what is the world coming to". I know he had mega time and coins in that car but it was still butt ugly to me. It was just not the body I would have picked to do a full blown Pro-Streeter out of. Of course, if you were going to build a P-Streeter out of a new car in (what was that?) 1980, you did not have many options. I was 22, just married and broke at the time so maybe I was just jealous! Then when he did the milk tanker, I knew he thought outside the box.
OK enough history lesson for you young whippersnappers! Someone get me my cane.

i met rick at a car show in ny when i was a kid and he was real nice to me showed my mother and i all the details on the nova.
i didnt like the prostreet thing too much then but there was a blue malibu i really thought was cool . i think their names were matt and tammy grimes, i would love to see pics of this car . does any one remember that car?

Yeah. I remember that car. It had Benz KMC wheels narrowed and widened to pro street specs. Paint was a medium blue metalflake. It was cool.
Nothing wrong with Pro Street. It just has to be viewed within it's context. The Venom Nova on the cover of the current PHR and the Malibu on the back cover of the same issue (Nitto ad) show that Pro Street is going in the right direction. TwinSting's vette really proves the point that Pro Street is cool again--if built right.
As for the car that started this thread, please inform the owner that I have a periscope for sale on ebay.

Steve,
I snickered at that comment, then I have a brain storm. With modern technology, we put back up cameras on everything. Maybe the same concept would work on this car. Just mount a camera on the passenger side aimed forward and place the screen so it would imitate sight. My buddy that had the 63 split window P-Street car surely could have benefitted from such a contraption.

No I meant this one. (I can't believe I found it) Saw it at E-Town one year. If Goodguy's is still at Rhinebeck, I'll be doing that this year.

It seems to me like a setup like that would actually inhibit building boost effectively. I bet twin turbos alone would make more power.

Oops, Yeah the Nitto ad car. Desmond's Malibu is my idea of a modern Pro Street car.
Any Auto-X up in Westchester?
