i hope this is in the correct forum but will the new 14" zo6 brakes fit with my new rushforth livewire wheels...they are 18x8 with 5" backspacing and im going to be switching to ats spindles... looks like the valvestem would get in the way. thanks for the info guys!!!

Go to the KORE3 website and print out one of the templates shown on this page and put it inside your wheel:

http://www.kore3.com/tech.php#fitment_templates

I'm using the same brakes and ATS spindles, luckily my 18" O.Z. Racing wheels swallowed up the 14" C6 Z06 brakes with plenty of room to spare.

Not all 18" wheels will clear the Z06 calipers, the spoke design is a big factor.

Maybe you'll get lucky too.:1st:

what do you guys think? the dotted line is the minimal clearance right? and then on the inside by the wheel hub is very tight as well

looks like you'll be ok if you can get a shorter valve stem.

i didnt know they make a short valve stem. i think once i get the spindles ill buy them anyway and can always sell if i need too or trade...its really close though

The dotted line actually is the swept radius of the caliper...when you look at the caliper in profile like that, it appears shorter radially than it really is, hence the dotted line. You need to make sure that you have at least 2.5mm [.100"] clearance when installed to be safe although some choose to run with less.

As for the valve stems, there are short ones avalilable with the standard design as well as the flush type. If you can stick with the standard ones, they tend to be easier to work with than the flush types over the long run.

It looks really close between the corner of the caliper and the transition there between the mouting pad and spoke...but pictures can be deceiving. Do you have a measurement in inches or millimeters as to how much clearance you have at that point? The templates are only as accurate and the guy with the scissors is in cutting them out, so there is some margin for error both ways...either in your favor or against. With a fitment as tight as what you appear to have, I would suggest fitting with actual parts if you can. Do you have any friends that work at a Chevy dealer? You might be able to slap a wheel on a Z06 'vette and then you'd know for sure. If you scratch it then I guess you have to buy it.

Also, you might want to keep in mind that wheel deflection at or near the hub will be much less than out near the hoop, so you can get away with less clearance close to the hub than you can further out. That said, maintaining a larger minimum clearance also helps to keep from ingesting rocks and other road debris, as they can make a mess of both wheels and calipers in the off chance that you were to pick something up.

everything clears with plenty of room except the valve stem. and it hits bad... do you guys think a flush stem will clear even seeing the pics and how bad it hits?

I had the same issue, and hidden valve stems resolved it. Not the same wheel. It is not fun to put air in. I had to cut down the adapter to fit under the rotor.

where did you get the stems from?
i saw some gorilla flush stems at sfx but thats all i looked for and was wondering if they make some good ones.

I have the flush stems it is a bit of pain to screw in the adaptors but the fluch mount stems are great.

That's cool that you had a car to fit with. The flush mounts tend to be a bit of a pain to use, but look to be the only option with those wheels and brakes. I haven't personally used enough brands to be able to make a recommendation one way or the other, but maybe someone who has will chime in on that.

Didn't mean to insult the scissor operator, but I was going to offer up a pair of lefty Kindergarten Safty scissors just to be sure nobody got hurt. I didn't see any blood stains in the pictures, so I'm hoping everybody made it out okay, all digits intact. :P
