I used AUTOPAL / Hella 5" replacements with 85/100W Halogens. The 5" replacements seem to be a bit harder to find in the right fit, but they work WELL. The setup I have uses H4 bulbs, but I'm trying to find a setup I saw before that uses 9005 / 9006 / 9007 style bulbs.

Sorry no link right now- I'll dig it up from the old computer...

I've been trying for a LONG time to find this sort of set-up. The closest I've come are these people.... http://www.iguanamotors.com/index.cfm . I haven't heard good or bad regarding their products, but considering the scarcity of viable options they might be the best thing going.

I use the Hella 5" glass (I know, Im not susposed to have them in a street car...but.......)

I used to run a PIAA H4 90/110 but now have fallen over for the PIAA H4 Extreme White bulbs. They look just like HID (as in white, not blue light, no blue at all) and they run at somewhere in the 'hood of 4150*K, which is where true HID starts. In fact the PIAA HID replacement bulbs are at 4300*K.....

And they are much cheaper than HID.

But I would run the glass lens, just make sure your car is a race car and not driven on the street. (that is my disclaimer, cuz the law says not to run them on the street).

lets see, most race tracks are paved, most streets are paved, so they must really be referring to pavement, since streets are mostly paved and race tracks are mostly paved then most streets are tracks, right?

thankfs for the input...do the piaa's and hella's use the stock harness or do you have to modify?

Stock.........but I will recommend that you modify the harness to safely handle the increased amperage of the newer bulbs. I am pretty confident that running a bulb up to and including 90W should have no issues. When using anything over that I would start to consider otherwise.

Although, the PIAA bulbs produce the light of a 110 to 140W bulb, they only require the ampereage of a 85W bulbm which is another plus and would require no other upgrades.

What about Detroit Speed's (http://www.detroitspeed.com/Headlights10.html) bright driver headlights? Or are you talking about something else?

Firebird's are 4 bulb setups and I believe 5 1/4 inches vs the 7 inch Camaro. There are a bunch of kits and upgrades for Camaros :ripped:

i feel the same way jagarang. if you are lucky enough to find something for 'birds, they cost about a quarter % more than a camaro(on parts that are firebird-specific). damn the luck
