i just finished building my own front suspension for my 65 falcon, now i want to do steering.

There is no rack out there that can maintain the same turning radius as stock. Total Control Products is the closest. i just put one in my dad 65 mustang, I have a 1/4" gap between each stock steering stop at full rack travel. all the other racks use crappy OEM racks who wants that? also the TCP rack need the frame notched and drilled with 1 5/8" holes to mount the thing. and its $1500 for a falcon.

So my plan is to use a woodward rack ($425) and offset it in the chassis build some bracketry to center the tie rod links in the chassis. Check out my PT garage pics for the CAD desinged steering rack. (will someone tell me how to post pics here)

just thought i would get some opinions on falcon/mustang/comet/ranchero/maverick steering

here is the picture of the offset rack and brackets to recenter the tie rods. it includes linear bearings to support the bracket.
