Ok I'll get right to the point the same mustang that just a few months ago was set to be one of the baddest pro street cars on the planet has now set her sight deep into pro-touring. I am slowly getting back into the swing of things. I have had to completly toss out the old parts list and build a new, Also a lot of extra work will be going into the body.

The paint will be the same a black and silver two tone.

The motor instead of a twin turbo big block aimed at 2150 hp will be shooting for around 700 out of a small block as far as power adders you never know. I do know I want this motor to turn some RPM, no more 6000 shifting I would like to turn over 7000 if not more.

as far a body "mods" I honestly can't make a list because so far everything done has been a spur of the moment kinda thing.

Ok now on the most recent pictures.

And thats about it lots of rough fabrication and the horrors that where hiding under the half inch of bondo, by the way all the brass and crap on the fender is not my work. I found that after I cut the fender, I am hoping it is "patchable" so I don't have to cut 7/8's out of two new fenders. (the other fender is getting canned)

Umm let me see.... OHH the car is on jack stands and this is the ride height I am shooting for once the new rockers are built and the bottoms of the fender are extended the rockers will sit 6 inches in the front and I think the back was 7 so it is plenty low.

Thanks. I got the other quarter cut out. And I hope to have the new one order in the next week. I may also try to have the inner shell sand blasted and epoxy primed.

I saw the "2.3" in the thread title and got psych'd you might be doing a 700hp turbo 2.3L 4 cylinder! It makes absolutely no sense to do so since an aluminum headed small block will weigh less, be easier to build, and cost about the same (or less), but it would've been cool.

In any case, your new project sounds great... keep us updated.

No, the 2.3 came in because when the car was still set to be pro-streeter there was alot of dissagrement between me and my dad and I lost all sense of wanting to work on the car. But I am back and working even harder then before.

I will be sure to keep you guys updated.

Well patty is on hold for a quick bit, I am splitting my shop in half to have sort of a clean room. I am going from 1500 square feet to two 750 square foot rooms.

And I have figured I want to shoot for 3000 pounds when the car is done, full interior, stereo, A/C, the works. So that will be interesting.

Ever consider doing a wide body kit on the car? Nothing to drastic but maybe move the quarters out 2 inches or so and appropriate flares on the front? Something similar to what Ron did on his 65 but keep it more based on factory lines?

That thought has crossed my mind a couple of time, I think I may try and widen the quarters a little... But the thought of wacking up a pair of $500 quarters is a little scary.

Thanks, I think I may re-do the front yet again and do more of a air dam splitter design instead of a chin type spoiler.

Well I have a small little update. I finally ordered the passenger quarter. I hope to have it fitting and gapped with the doors hopefully by the end of this week, then I pull it and the other side off to do some stuff with the inner shell before fully welding it up.

Here are some crappy quick pictures to keep the :postpics: at bay!
