Hey guys, Was wondering what some good shocks are for my GTO, Have some 2" rear and 3" front drop springs from OPGI. What are some good shocks to run with something like this? They sell these shocks and recommend you run them with the springs.http://www.opgi.com/product.asp?topcatid=62&chapterid=62&topvalue=0&newflag=0&grpcode=4614&yearrange=
Is there anything else out there?

I'm running the KYB's in my 67 with eibach dropped springs. I paid a lot less for them with my discount at work. About $20 a piece. For what I paid I'm happy with them. but they do seem a little stiff and they aren't the nicest shock I've ever seen. When money allows I'll probably go with bilsteins, but I will wait until I redo the suspension again.

You should be able to find those KYBs much cheaper elsewhere. I have had less than stellar experiences with KYBs and recently replaced them with Varishocks, single adjustable. My KYBs had less than 300 miles over 5 years and they were very spongy. The set before them, KYB also, lasted about 3 years with <2kmi on them so if you get them, don't expect them to last, driven or not -- In my experience.

I was looking at the varishocks, Do they make a shorter shock for the lower springs?

Absolutely. We do assume that if you are buying our shocks that you have lowered the car some. To be 100% certain, set the car on it's feet and measure the length of the shock, mounting point to mounting point, and we can match it up.

KYBs are junk, I'd go with the Hotchkis re-valved Bilsteins.
