Can anyone suggest similar places like eBay and carsdirect.com where one could look nationwide for a project car? My father had a 69 vette and I think I'd like to follow in his footsteps. Thanks.

does anyone know if Chris Mcdonald, owner of the black 69 conv. vette is still a regular on this forum or how to reach him. I tried the email address listed in his post about his car and it came back bad? I'd like to get some info on his build.

Like I said I'm looking for a 69 vette either conv. or coupe although Chris Mcdonalds' conv. 69 was sure inspiring. I really just want a shell as I plan on gutting it and setting it up with adjustable suspension, possibly even an air ride set up and some wide treads. Engine choice will probably be in the newer LS1/richmond 6spd department. Recaro seats, custom dash, and big ol side exhaust. L88 hood and fender flares with a factory reproduced paint job.

Why? Can you help with some of this Mr. Quick?
I found 2 69 conv. on that readytofix.com site you suggested. Made an offer on both. We will see if they get accepted.

I'm in Iraq at this moment. Been here for 7 months and in less than 2 weeks I will be back home on base in SoCal. I'm a Sgt with a Marine infantry unit and we saw quite abit of action in our time here. It will be good for me to get into a project as I just finished my sportbike before I left in August.

I've got over a dozen sites I check every day for nice new cars! Most are finished though. Ebay is probably a good choice. My neighbor is selling his Vette (not sure what year it is, but it is a post 67', maybe 72?) but it's got 17"wheels, 540ci Bill Mitchell engine with a 4speed. Could make a nice Pro-touring car. He said it got $20K in the engine alone and he wants $25K for the whole car. Gotta ship it from Hawaii though.....

Jay

you are very welcome. I am glad though it is ending shortly, both the deployment (10 days and counting) and my enlistment. Thank you for the web sites. I made an offer on a 69 shell on readytofix.com but nothing has come back. I did get a hold of Chris Mcdonald and got some good info on the build of "Killer" his 69 convertible. So the search continues.
