Actually, I should label this one #1 since we started on it first.

Originally this was being built to go to Columbus, but priorities changed and I think this one is going to debut at SEMA instead. Either way, it's a sick ride.

I've posted a few pics of this one before, but I'll start over and post the full build here.

First, here's some shots of the chassis. It's our basic Mustang Chassis except there's a bit bigger kick in the rear.

Constructed of 2x4 tubing and all TIG welded, it allows for FULL LEG ROOM, unlike some of the other options out there. This chassis is also fully mounted and bushed to the body instead of being welded to it.

don't mind the 1x1 body bracing

As soon as the body was dropped onto the frame ( floor cut out of course) a new interior was started. You'll notice in a few of the pics that you can see where no leg room is lost.

here's some shots of the exterior mods. Although I wasn't fast enough to catch them all on film, here's a short list:

shaved drip rails, custom side vents, smoothed narrowed recessed and flushed bumpers, shaved handles and locks, shaved gas filler, smoothed rear lights, custom fender flares, widened wheel openings, oh, and the windshield is pulled back 3/4" and the rear section of the roof is chopped 3/4". All these pics are BEFORE the roof was chopped.

Yes, it's a Roush 427 I believe. I'll keep both the Mustangs updated as they move forward.

This particular car was actually media blasted before we started and sealed with primer. The new metal areas that have the the flash rust on it will be sanded down and after that the painter will take care of the rest.

I believe the colors are going to be a mix of silver and green 2 tone, but the final decision has changed a few times.

Roll cage is in as of this week.

We opted to do a bolt in (sort of) so the body could be removed for final finish on the chassis. There are plates welded to the frame, and to the body that will bolt together.

The door bars are not in and complete yet, but the rest is.

Got the wheels and tires in place too...

The tires are being replaced for a different profile though.

If you laid back the windshield 3/4", what are you doing for the side windows ?

I"m very curious as I was going to lay back my windshield and drop the roofline by 1", but decided against it as I would have had more work into coming up with some kind of window scheme than I would have into modding the roof.

I figured I could try to build my own vent window re-using the old channel and have the window rollup 1" lower than before, or replace the vent window with a smaller solid panel and then use some kind of Percy's molded lexan side windows to make a custom window or something, but as I said this ended up being more work than the actual roof layback so I gave it up.
