*Meant for title fuel cell not fuel safe"

Hi guys, Was going to get a fuel cell for a budget build and had a question. They sell them with and without 0-90 ohm gm sending units. are the sending units for a fuel injected car? I will just have a chevy 350 with a carb.

here are the 2 tanks

one with the sender http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D293220%2DS&N=700+4294925239+4294839036+4294920243+400304+115&autoview=sku

and with out

both are identical minus the sender. confused on what i should get.

The 'sender' and it's resistance are related to your fuel gage... and nothing else. It has nothing to do with EFI vs. carburated... so you are good to go with either.

The 'sender' related to the fuel cell that you are looking at allows you to use your stock fuel gage, if you are using an OEM GM gage or if you are using an aftermarket 0-90 OHM gage.

If you want a working fuel gage, either stock or aftermarket, get the cell with the sender. If you are not worried about looking at a simple gage to "see" your fuel level... dont worry about it.

I'm going to guess this is a fuel tank, not a fuel cell. My understanding of a fuel cell is a can, a rubber bladder, and foam. The expensive part of the deal is the bladder- the two best known sources for cells in the US are Fuel Safe and ATL. Understand (but have not personally confirmed) one bought the other

Thanks for letting me know, I will get the one with the sender then.

Hence my comment. This is in my definition (shared by a number of sanctioning bodies), a fuel tank, not a fuel cell, as it does not contain a bladder. The fact that a seller calls a tank a cell does not atually make it a cell.

This will work for the street and no doubt for HPDE track days, but I doubt that if you want to go road racing you'll have much joy with a good tech inspector.

Why is this important- because it's appearing the safety equipment thread
