I have comcast high speed internet. Why am I downloading at 56kbs or less?? I have a toshiba s1. Wireless conection speed of 11mbps. I know this is a car sight but thought somebody may have some insite. Do I need to upgrade my wireless router?? My connection is excellent.

Try downloading a cool program called TCP Optimizer... it's free, and it will tune your connection to use the highest possible speed your connection will sustain. We've used in on all our PCs and it works great.

what site are you downloading from?
Is it an FTP?
what does this site say about your speeds? http://www.speedtest.net/
