What it has...
powder coated sub frame
all new moog steering linkage
detroit speed upper and lower a arms
bilstein shocks front/rear
hotchkis front coils
hotchkis rear leafs
hotchkis/bilstien front and rear shocks
kore3 c-5 front brakes
kore3 c-5 rear brakes / with parking brake
kore3 brake hoses
global west aluminum body mounts
all new gm door hinges(not yet installed)
17 inch vintage wheel works V40's
nitto 245 front ..nitto 285 rear
everything in rear diff is new..moser axles, eaton posi, gm 3.42 ring and pinion, all new bearings
I've got all the body parts to put it back together, including one new Goodmark fender. I'm still deciding whether to just purchase all new front end pieces and have fresh sheet metal. Both inner fenders are in OK condition with some dings and minor rust from battery acid leakage. The car is ... I'd say 99% rust free. Just a few minor spots, nothing major. Very solid.
It'll need all new interior, not much is really salvageable. Except for maybe the A-pillar trim pieces.
Over $12,000 invested if you include the purchase price of the car for the last owner. I got a very good price on it, I also picked up a 2003 KTM Pro Sr. 50cc race bike included in the purchase price. It's for my Nephew... his 'dream bike'.
I'll post more pics later when I can get more time to tinker...
I blame The Pozzi's for this purchase. :rotfl:

That's nice. I'd love to have one of those. It sounds like a third of the shopping list is already complete. Unless they are wasted, I'd recommend repairing the original fenders. On my Chevelle project the total cost involved for repo fenders, tax or shipping and getting them ready for paint would have been around $750+. I had my original fenders blasted, patched, blocked and the inside coated with POR 15 ready for paint for about the same $$$ and they fit great. Once you get rolling start a thread on the Project Updates page.

Nice! Welcome to the 2nd gen club gen . . . you're pre-smog and pre-'73 with that car and I'm fairly jealous as a result.

Then I've got to ask... how does it ride? How does it handle?
What do you have planned for the Motor and tranny??
I'm open on that still.. not sure if a warmed over 350 will do it. Or if I'll go LSx.

I don't have the fancy A-arms, but my car does have those same Hotchkis leafs and my Eibach coils are pretty similar as far as spring rates go. I think it's great, good and stiff but not overly punishing. It'd probably be too stiff as a daily driver . . . which my car was for a while. There's still some body roll, but I should point out that I'm running stock sway bars.
If you're going to go with a traditional sbc, I'd say build it yourself (or atleast nut and bolt it if it's a crate). It's way more fun to do that way. My biggest regret is having the machine shop put together the short block for me. As for the LSx option, I totally know of a G8 GT donor car . . .
Maybe you can just stick a cheap 350 in it as a temporary plant for a year or two until you get an LSx planned for it.

Quiet you... hahah..
I may do an odd route... I may go LS motor, but carb'd. Something different.

The guy I bought the car from had got it back in 2005, apparently it was a running car that was in 'decent' condition. I cannot confirm if it actually did run the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2005. But, for sake of the old worn out sticker, I'll just assume it may have.
I ran the vin # and body tag. Learned that it was originally Cranberry red. I was thinking of doing a dark green paint with black stripes. I'm not a big fan of bright red cars. But, Cranberry Red seems to be a nice color for that style car. A bit in your face, and classic enough not to be obnoxious. May through the black stripes on top of the paint.
This is all speculation of course... I've gotta get the car prepped for body work first and re-assemble the front end. The boys over at Classic Industries are going to know me real well... seeing as they're 10 minutes away from my house.

You should plan a roll cage before you get all the Classic Industries stuff in your car. I always look at events like the Silver State Classic and the Maxton Mile only to be reminded that I'd be teched at some painfully slow speed without a cage.

You are half way there with that work and parts for the car. I think dark green would look good on the car.

Yeah, it was on ebay. I watched it closely while a few people bid on it. But the last few bids were under his reserve. During the auction I had contacted the previous owner for extra pics and history of the car.
All the while the auction ended with no winning bids. I waited a day then contacted him and asked the owner if the car was still available. He said he had a few prospective buyers from out of state but didn't trust the long distance transactions.
Long story short, we went to view the car... made an offer for the car and the little KTM dirt bike he was getting rid of. Came back two days later with a flatbed and my pickup truck to haul the car and it's pieces home.
Now, as we speak I'm gearing up for a week long trip in the desert for camping and dirt biking. Yayy. But once I get back, I'll start tearing into the car. Well, as much as my budget will allow. haha
