I talked to the summit tech guy and I was told that the summit sport seats are made by Scat. Just an FYI.

So is that a good thing or a bad thing? I have zero experience with aftermarket seats, was considering making the investment. Opinions anyone?
Is this the same company that makes cranks, rods ect? :help!:

I’ve had my summit seats for about 6 months and so far I’m very pleased with them.
Sure they are not as nice as the high end seats but for a little over $200 they are a barging.
The only negative is that they have a knob on the side that you have to crank to get the seat back to recline or tilt forward however I think they now offer a seat that has a lever to take care of that problem.

I was going to order a pair of these seats today but thought it best to do a little measuring of my car's interior, first. These seats are 37.5" high,,way too tall. The backrests would completely block the rear window on each side. My bench seat is only 27" tall.

So,it looks like it's back to the ol' drawing board. :dunno:

Yes! The seats are made by the same company that makes the cranks, SCAT is a very good company to work with and make a quality product at a very reasonable price.

As said above, Nice seats for $200 a pop. I sit in one every time I goto Summit to pick up parts.

I might sell my 97 TA Leather seats out of my Vert to put em in my 3rdgen

I'm just very concerned about their height,Andre. If I could see a car with them installed,I might change my mind.
Maybe NovaGuy can help out here. He was suppoed to get his seats this week.

BINGO!

Yeah Clint, the seats do have a very high back. The bracket that I have them on could possible go a few inches lower.
To bad I'm not heading up your way anytime soon. It would be nice to drop one in to see how it fits in your El Camino.
If I hear of anyone going up to your neck of the woods in the next week or so I'll drop you a PM.

I opened the seats and...Im a big fan!!!
For 200 bucks a pop your not going to find better, plus they dont have the cheesy APC/Matrix/what ever on the headrest. The seats actually fit me very well and im a large guy {6'2" 245-250, linebacker kind of build}And this was my biggest concern. I havent had them in the Nova yet, but as of right now im thrilled!!! Ill be welding up some brackets and trying to get my interior pieced together over the next few days, so if i can steal the girlfriends digital camera ill get some pics maybe around the end of the weekend.

For thos with the Summit seats. How do you like the quality of the vinyl? Is it pretty soft?

Anyone use the Jegs seats? Or are they the same thing?

Justin,

Any updates/pics on those Summit seats? Did you get them installed? I'd like a pair as well but I'm decently concerned about height as well.

i got a pair of he jeg's seats, very nice, kinda on the firm side but they look good sitting in the car, i would recomend making the brackets as low as possible because they would be to high other wise.

Dan

I'd like to use stock buckets in my '70, as I'm going for a stock look, but they seem pretty hard to find.

If you have the headrest, and want to sell yours, let me know.

I have the headrests, but they need to be re-covered, whereas the seats were recovered (stock) back in 2002. I'm not 100% positive I want to sell them and install sports. Where are you located? What were you looking to pay for a pair?

Thanks,
Dan
