View Full Version : You guys will Love the new Fast & Furious
Again, no discernible story line... but WAAAAY better cars than before!
Big Red
F-Bomb
The year one bandit TA
A sick Gran Torino
Ford rs200
A nice charger
and I think my buddies and I must have been the only ones that spotted the lambo suv.
..Again, super enjoyable, but don't expect any intellectual stimulation.

I agree, I kept on hitting my wife and saying "thats big red" , "thats F-bomb" , etc...... she had no idea what I was talking about, but, there were some cool cars for sure!

Just got back from it, seeing all the cars (as well as Jordanna Brewster) was pretty awesome. If ever there was a car that could do a rolling wheelie on dirt, it'd be f-bomb.

HBO on First Look had some interveiws and behind the scenes shots, F-Bomb had a huge counterweight rack about 4' long off the back of the car loaded down with Earthmover weights..... a quick shot on a dirt road passing another car from a documentary shot camera.

i went with no rel expectations as to the story line, just to be entertained by the cars and i was pleasantly surprised... the movie kicked ass!
im soooo happy they moved away from almost all imports to about an even mix of muscle and import.
that 70chevelle was wicked, but nothing touches the F-bomb!

My buddy and I also spotted that Lambo SUV. Our car club from school went to the movie, and so me and my buddies were gettin all super excited about trying to figure out which cars we could pick out from the movie. I thought it was pretty funny... In the last chase scene when Dom comes flying out of the tunnel there's that real brief view of a 70's Camaro, then when that thing suddenly pulled that monster wheelie it hit me that it was F-Bomb. I nudged my buddy and was like, "That's F-Bomb!!!" Then the shot of the fender proved my point. lol.
loved both chevelles. especially when i saw him bolting that intake piece down that said "ProCharger" on it :1st:
it was definitely better than the other ones. still not fantastic, but i was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out.

That movie was the gap between 1 and 2.. I guess if they really wanted to, they could show how Hann got to Tokyo and started that up (movie#5)and then go back to after F&F Tokyo Drift for movie #6..

I saw it with the kids ....good action flick. Cool cars...but what's up with using some squirrely little punk to be defending the orange 69 Camaro. Embarassing is all I got to say.....some director or producer must have some childhood issue with some guy owing an Orange 69. :machine:

It's big red, and big red is the (IMHO) sickest camaro evAr. 197mph average at Silverstate in 1989... 18x13 bbs's wrapped in the 335 rubber... ~800 hp. perfection

Not so perfect, something very wrong happened to it out at the Texas Mile 2 weeks ago..
It was puffing smoke and moving slow.. :(

Frankly, there wasn't ENOUGH car porn in this. No engine shots, no real scenes of wrenching. Too much character development.
I don't go to these movies to see people, I go to see CARS! Big disappointment.

Somehow I think Tokyo drift was supposed to come out after this one. The guy that died in Tokyo drift was in this new one.....
Cool movie though

i was a little disapointed. There was not enough screen time on the cars. The scenes were always jumped ahead to them already driving them, and no kinda introduction to them if that makes sense. I felt like something was missing. The whole time watching it, it was too predictable and a little corny as usual. but everyone is gonna see it eventually, just because it is the only car movie out at this time.

no he got got kicked off the force for letting dom go in the end of f&f 1. not breaking him out. and im sure the plot was since he did the "right" thing in f&f 2 he got re-enlisted. in the new movie there a part where the chief says to him "did i make the right choice by re-enlisting you brian?" you can basically you say that this movie's story could have been going on the same time as tokyo drift just state side... who really knows. im sure they didnt really plan for all of it just had to some how make it all work together...
yea andrew that was a HAMMER replica that "letty" was killed in.

Can someone give me an answer without this turning into an argument as to why the guys on this board have no problems with watching a movie from the fast and furious collection, encouraging it, and even talking about how good it is, but on the same message board you post pictures of sports compacts and start a flame fest?

I liked the movie but was shocked how these amazing cars were relegated to 'extras' in the movie. Maybe it was a subtle nod to those of us in-the-know, but Big Red deserves to be more than a parkbench for that goofball character. It's an insult to throw F-Bomb into the mix with those other cars.

I think that the general opinion here is that the new movie is better than the last specifically because it included more domestic hotrods than it's predecessors. So we're being consistent in our closed-mindedness. I think we'll be completely satisfied if the next F-n-F is really just a remake of 'Corvette Summer'.

I think everyone is psyched about this movie due to the much larger number or musclecars. I have yet to see the movie, but all the cars you see on the previews are American. And the answer is yes, most of us still do not like Japanese Sport Compact cars.

I think I'll check this out tomorrow afternoon. Really does look better than the other movies; not sure if it is possible to be worse than Tokyo Drift. That was a really bad movie, IMHO. The first movie was good on a comical level, the second was a little better thanks to the Yenko and Challenger.
It's funny, because I just saw Paul Walker at my shop the other day. He lives in town and sometimes drops by to have his Porsche or Audi serviced. He's a nice guy and actually is one of the few actors/celebrities in town (and we have many) that brings his own cars in or picks up parts in person. Most others have their personal assistants do that kind of stuff.

I'm watching a bootleg of this right now over here in Iraq. Did anyone else notice that Dom was under a 70 Chevelle and rolled out with a water pump in his hand that looked like it's off some 4 cylinder? And who puts a water pump on a Chevelle from the bottom? lol.
