I haven't been scammed yet, but many people have tried. Here is the latest.
Hello,
How are you today and how is work over there, thanks you for the mail am okay with the condition and the price of the item,i will be paying with a Bank Certified Check and as for the shipment my shipper will come for the pick up at your location upon your confirmation of receiving the payment and I want you to keep the item for me and don't want you to look for any other buyer.
Your full Name
Address: city,state,zip code
phone: no to reach you.
I would have love to come down for the pickup, but i do not have chance to do that now due to my job but am satisfied with your description of the item i will like you to give me your contact info for me to mail your payment.
Have a nice day and hope to hear from you soon.
thanks.
I recieve at least one of these emails from different email adress every two weeks (yes I post on craigslist often) its all brand new car audio which I guess atracts scam artists. Is there anyway to catch these guys? One time they actually did send me a fake check, i'm not sure if i still have it, but it was so fake it wasn't even funny. it was for a $90 item and i got a $1000 fake check, and the guy said the same thing about the driver coming over. Its really annoying what people are doing to rip you off, i hope noone has ever fallen into the trap. It is just wayyyy to obvious with their scams. Just be on your toes when using craigslist, but if there is a way to catch them let me know. I have like 10 emails that are all scammers. maybe give them an adress to the police station? so when they go to pick it up, the cops grab em. gahhhh. anyways this is san diego if anyone was curious.
