Well the time has finally come. Been dieting/training for 13 weeks. Stepped on stage at 183.8 last night. Competed in Novice middleweight class and Open light heavyweight. WON both classes but lost the overall Mr Buffalo to the heavyweight who had 60lbs of mass on me. THanks for reading!!! Chris

I am beginning a diet and workout regimen. Wish me luck. No contest in my future just hoping to get off the bloodpressure medicine.

Good job man. I've been hitting the gym for about a year now. Im a little guy though. 6'0" at 165lbs. When I started a year ago i was 150, the hit 178 while bulking, and now im cut back down.
Never thought about competing. Would probably just embarrass me and make me work harder.
Congrats

congrats - now just be careful not to get caught up in the grow or die chemical dependancy that so many people fall into.
keep it natural

Congrats man. Take more guts than I have to step on stage in the speedo. I just workout so I can be strong so I can help my friends lift things :)

Congrats on the win.
I lift to keep the blood pressure down, play center better, and toss my kids around easier without blowing something.

congrats, that's quite an accomplishment. I never had the drive to do the training and then dieting required to do that. My father in law is a 4-time Mr. Universe (Bill Pearl), and I've been around the industry with several friends who have and still compete in amateur stuff, just not me............... :)

I actually do the P90X workout...I am between sessions now but will start back up once I get moved to Kansas this week. I started dec 1 at 194....I now weigh 166. My pants size went from 38 to 33. I am 5'9. I was benching the other day and pushed up 275 three times....I did all that with dumb bells and a pull up bar, plus so many push ups i cant count...next round will be to bulk up and get rid of this last 10 pounds of beer and hot wings!!

Thats real cool. My cuz is 2 time Mr. Universe. Victor Terra.
I trained with him for a couple years. Training was easy I just couldn't do the dieting. Way too strict.
