I wouldn't trade it in. You will lose your butt big time.

With the economy the way it is, people are not out (as much) buying cars so the dealers have tightened up as well. You will not get what your car is worth i/e take it in the shorts on a trade.

If you can get enough money back to make you happy on the trade--go with the goat.

Hammer the dealer hard on the Goat, the 5.7 GTO isn't the hottest on the market and with the economy the way it is I would want a screamin deal to even consider it. Go check Edmunds and Autotrader and look at the 5.7 and 6.0 GTO to compare for price. Sell the Charger private party for the down so as to not take it so badly in the shorts.

Hmmm, your surprised a 5.7L/6 speed combo is faster than a 3.5L V6 in a 4000 lb car?? LOL
Get the Goat, but don't go broke!

The 2005's are a 6.0L and the 2004's are the 5.7L's, just to clarify... The GTOs haven't fared well in terms of resale (despite being great cars) so it shouldn't be too pricey. But then again, 6 cyl Chargers may not have fared too well either...

Not sure how that trade in is. But they are a bit high on the gto. I've seen them with about that mileage for around $13k in excellent shape
