A local club member just put an SLP Loudmouth on his GT. It completely eliminates the mufflers behind the bumper with straight pipe & a set of tips. It sounded good as there are the cats & 2 sets of resonators in the mid pipe that kept the sound level reasonable.

He is installing headers this weekend though, i am curious to see if that will be overkill.

Didn't look like 105 to me.

Still the stock system for the rest? Ie cats, and resonators? That'd sound pretty interesting...

This is mine with just a twin 3" exhaust and also the stock HSV 4-1 short headers.

Damn encoding didn't work properly updated...

Did your exhaust replace the entire mid pipe? Were the rear mufflers replaced as well? I think yours sounds good.

In our club we have a the G8 which sounds good so far. My buddy has a GTO that is just obnoxious (headers & spintech mufflers). Then there is the 4th gen that trumps them all (headers & dynomax race bullets).

I was surprised as well, the midpipe is completely untouched. The only drawback is the Loudmouth is expensive. Like $300+ for just a couple bent pipes and tips.

Ill have to see if we can get some vid after the header install.

Shane,

Mine is a complete replacement from the OE cats back. So it goes from the cats to twin 3" into a cross over pipe and then two resonators and into two mufflers as it exits.

Not sure how the G8's are but the HSV has headers rather than a cast exhaust manifold, so that does help to open up the sound a bit :)

Cheers
