Hi everyone,
I don't post much here, but I've been learning here for quite a while. (I post more at www.camaros.net (http://www.camaros.net)) So I hope this post isn't inappropriate, but I'd like to ask a favor of anyone who has a couple of minutes to spare to help my daughter win a $20,000 scholarship.
She was selected by the www.zinch.com (http://www.zinch.com/) website to participate in the "March Madness" competition. She made it past the state round and the regional round and the first round of the Final 64. She is now in a tough back and fourth fight in the second round. The competition is based on votes by members of the site.
I know some of you are going to want to stop reading after that last sentence since no body really wants to join some website they know nothing about. But please keep reading. Creating an account only requires your name and zip code and an email address. It is a reputable site, designed for Colleges and students to get to know each other. If any of you could create an account there and vote for my daughter I'd greatly appreciate it!
Once you create an account you get an immediate email confirmation, no waiting. You have to click on the link in the email and then you can log in and go to the March Madness Competition and select the tab for the West division and you will see my daughter's name, Holly Houston. Click on her name and then click the Vote icon under her name.
She needs more votes for this round, which ends 3/27/09 at 11am EST. And if she makes it past this round she will need votes in the following rounds also.
Even if you choose not to vote, if you have any kids in the "about to go to college" age group, you might want to point them to this website for their own interest. (Of course if they could vote for Holly that would be great too!)
Thank you very much for all who choose to vote! (Some members at Team Camaro have actually help on earlier rounds to get Holly this far. Thank you guys again if you are reading this here.)
If you choose not to vote, I really understand and thanks for reading.
Ray (and Holly)
(Holly has setup a website www.voteforhollyhouston.com (http://www.voteforhollyhouston.com).)
