my day on the autobahn

I was in germany last week and headed to the airport on sunday morning early from cologne to frankfurt.

Was in an audi a3 turbo diesel 2.0 l

put the cruise control on 210kmh ( as fast as the car would go) and got there in 1.25 hours - 180 km

It was so nice that people actually got out of the fast lane to let you go by - and only used it to pass.

It made me realize what a55hats most american drivers are.

oh yeah - there was not mass carnage all over the freeways there from going fast like they say happens. I did not see one wreck and I acutally got passed 2 times by big mercedes.

i had the pleasure of ridintg on it back in 92..was a passenger in a older bmw but was so cool going 115 mph for 3 hours straight..made for great travel time..got passed by a few porsche's and seen 0 wrecks ..awesome piece of road

Yes they know how to do it properly. It takes around a year to get a license. People are trained how to drive. If they don't pull out of the fast lane they can have their license suspended. I was on it many years ago. It is designed very well also (curves, ramps, etc..).

Its something we in the US envey because ours was eleminated a many years ago. We called it Montana.

tell me - what is the deal with all the drivers taking cell phone pics of each other when they are mad at each other?

I saw this several times coming back from some sightseeing - like if somone was passingon the right or would not get out of the fast lane.

out comes the cell phone and they are taking pics - pretty funny
