A 120 volt mig would be fine for welding body panels. I've seen 120 volt welders used in body shops. The Miller is nice because it has continuously variable settings and the autoset feature.

If a 120v couldn't weld sheet metal, what do you think it could do?

I've used our little 120 Lincoln Weld Pac for body panels and sheet metal for years, and it works great. Once you get into much larger stuff, you may want something bigger. Just don't try to save money on the bottle and use the flux core wire, you'll usually make a mess!!

I just picked up a Miller Autoset off of ebay for $650 w/ cart & tank. it works perfect.
