Kind of like in the first transformers when the chick says "You have a high rise double pump carb". Or "Looks like your distributor cap is loose". Total BS...

But hey she looked hot in the short skirt !!!! :yum:

OMG, I hate movies that have ridiculous car stunts. In some movies and TV shows, one shot and the car is bent like a banana from a jump and the next it's doing 100 mph. I only watched F and the F when I was totally bored one day because I wanted to see what muscle cars were used and the women are nice to look at too. If anyone ever remakes Bullet I'm sure they'll ruin it too.

Thank you. I am glad I am not the only one who just cringes when the fast and furious thing comes around.

Oh goodie, a fresh bunch of honda civics with fart cans and wings. Just what we need!:bsjerk:

Its a shame they feel the need to go out and wreck a bunch of musclecars in these movies. Anyone read the Hot Rod article. They talk about how hard it was to find any decent Chargers because of how few are left, then they go out and wreck the few they find. A**holes is all I'm going to say. I've never liked any classic, hot rod or musclecar/truck being wrecked in a movie. There are millions of POS they could wreck other than these.

Has anyone seen the Transporter 3 ??
The first one was good the 2nd ok and the 3rd really bad , at one point the guy gets the car up on two wheels going well over 100 mph and drives between 2 trackor trailers , its really bad !!
My kids really wanted to see it so we rented it , they left half way through it LOL

Hey Vengeance, maybe Dynacorn can make a 69 Charger body then Hollywood could buy a dozen of those and a dozen Dynacorn 68 Fastback bodies and wreck them all. It would help the economy. At least the body and speed shops that supply their movies would be doing well.

When are they going to learn that all of the CGI stunts are just ridiculous. Do real stunts not all of that crap. Jumping the car onto the top of a train and then driving it along the top and jumping it off. Come on. Or when he jumps the car from one building into the parking garage and drives away. LMAO!! Are they serious.

I saw a commercial for the new one last night. The Vin Diesel character was driving Freiburger's "F-Bomb" and doing a huge wheelie in it, which I don't doubt it is capable of. But in the shot the car is..................on dirt.

Must have been imported from Hazard County, GA. I mean the General Lee used to get tire squeal in corners on dirt roads.

Yea but that would be SENSIBLE THINKING... now you know hollywood is not good for that, old sport.

Tires will squeal on Georgia Clay, that stuff can be as hard as pavement. Although not as much as it did in the show/movie.

At least Megan Fox is super hot. I think if she said that in real life I would have to say, your absolutly right baby, 100% right just as I thought...distributor issues. Even if rods are hanging out of the block it must be the double pump high rise or the distributor! Just like she said!

Geez you guys are harsh. You ever think that it's a movie and isn't supposed to be real? Besides if you go to Youtube You can see some of the vehicles that they made for the movie and they are more than capable. The two trucks they build are awesome. My only beef's are the wheelie car simply because a car that does that would generally be good for nothing more and won't corner well. Although I AutoX'd with a guy taht would pull the front wheels off the ground on the course under accelerartion and he did ok. The other problem was the Torino's they destroyed. Only one survived the movie. And they found 2 factory 4 spd cars and a factory 429 car which may have been one of the 4spd cars. Also there is no need for a gaff like in transformers with the doublepumper reference. The movie ain't real but that's just dumb.

actually, in the first F&F movie, most of the stunts were "real". the DVD has all the camera angles of the Charger flipping over the Supra at the end. all the other ones looked pretty CG'd up, though.

i still hate all the crap they throw in for dramatic effect, like wheelies, flames out the exhaust, etc, etc.

re: Transformers - I would guess the script writers don't talk to the people supplying the car, and the actress was just reading her lines. very well, i might add.

I don't understand the franchise's obsession with simultaneous burnout/wheelies. Hot Rod wrote an article about the movie cars. The real F-bomb gets no screen time (this fact killed the only enthusiasm I might have had for this movie) and that dirt wheelie shot required over a ton of ballast in the trunk.

My complaint is with destroying old musclecars. You mean to tell me they couldn't find another Torino other than a big block 4 speed GT to wreck. Hell even the guys building the movie cars should've said something about that one.

It's just a movie...
It's supposed to be fun .
At least they are keeping the legendary musclecars alive in the minds (and hearts) of the kids today.

The fights in Rocky weren't real.
The races in Grand Prix weren't real either.
Hollywood changes things to make it more "entertaining" to the DUMB MASSES.

I don't like them wrecking the musclecars either !
That's just wrong !

EVERY movie in the world wrecks the musclecars !
It's just wrong....

Note: at the time in the transformers movie, she really was looking at a high rise Victor Jr intake with a double pumper installed.

The highly modded fuel injection setup was added post production because someone thought it looked more futuristic.

Here's the "hero shot" of bumblebee's engine. Note the lighting. It was shot indoors. The scene in question was filmed outside in bright daylight.

Yea, I read about them ruining this car. It really broke my heart when I read this, they are obviously not car guys to trash cars like this. If you want to get the shot, find a beater and make it look the way you want for the shot. They aren't making these cars anymore.

Any real car guy knows that to lift the wheels like they do you need traction and if the wheels are smoking while the front end is hanging its just plain fake.

They put 700# of weight on a rack , on the rear of the car , to do that .

While the idea of a streetable vehicle pulling the wheels on dirt is stupid, a world of outlaws sprint car will do wheelies on dirt - with smoking tires as it does!! All it takes is massive HP, light weight, a short wheelbase, and a well prepared dirt/clay track.

Well here's hoping that the same knuckleheads who adopted the import/ricer scene after the original F&F movie don't gravitate to musclecars.

when you use your nitrous system, doesn't everything get blury and the metal plate on your passenger floor pan rattles loose and flys off the car because of the extreme power?

I do get a kick out of watching the Fast and Furious movies, though. I'll probably see the new one in the theater. Seems like there are going to be a lot of musclecars in this one, which is a step in the right direction. Are the movies realistic? Not really, but that's ok. I just wish they had better technical automotive advisers to tell them not to do certain things (ie. tire smoking wheel stands, flames out exhaust).

It also REALLY bugs me that they only use their nitrous towards the end of the quarter mile or race. Anyone who has ever used nitrous knows that you want to use it as soon as traction allows. Remember when the asian guy with the S2000 beat the kid with the Jetta when running for pinks? The kid in the Jetta hits the nitrous halfway through the pass and blows past the S2000. Then the guy in the S2000 says "too soon", and hits his nitrous to blow past the Jetta and win the race. I guess they have to do it that way to be dramatic, but come on. Ridiculous stuff.
