Bad: Not being able to see the 200mph on the chassis roll video.
Good: Driving the Mule to 180 in 5th to test the "tune". (Stielow said 6th would not hold, then it held!)
Better: Watching and hearing as the Mule hit the dyno's "speed limit" at 200.
Thanks Charley

WOW!!! Thats just crazy watching the headers glow red. All I can say is that must be one fantastic ride when you mash the skinny pedal! :worship:

That was about as interesting as watching the grass grow without being able to actually SEE what we were to be looking at.

Gotta love showing the manufacturers the limitations of their products; in this case a dyno that only measures to 200 mph.............

BTW, are the headers made from 321 or 304 ?

Yeah, I prefer the view in this one (http://www.camcojb.com/videos/w2wmuledyno.wmv) although it's JUST a 750 rwhp power pull.

Its nice to see what a talented well egineered project can do.Its amazing how smooth the power is..no vibration or shake (from what i see) Actually the combination looks like its just getting warmed up,and there's allot more there.. waiting..i know the power it has,but its just warming up! Great vid Jody!

B.T.W..What approximate horsepower is your outstanding new camaro going to show us soon? :worship:

Thanks for the great video :hail:

The headers are all 321 parts, its the best to fight the "glow" over time.
When I ordered the dyno, I really thought "200" was going to be enough! When Charley said TT's on the Mule it was obvious I should have went for 250!

I was thinking 321...... as they did not light up very quickly as you pointed out. I was almost going to say Inconel, but for some reason, I left that choice out.

Now, the issue if you buy a 250, Charley will just have to build something to find new limits. On your end is it mearly a SW change, or is the more to the mechancial operation ?

Mechanical safety issues. There is no doubt Charley would take it as a challenge!
Charley is already making my life tougher. Friday's my family comes to the shop and picks me up for lunch. We had the Mule on the rolls when they arrived and I was driving to get the cal spot on for the "200" mph run. My 4 year old was watching intently with his hands over his ears as daddy pushed the pedal to the "boost" to around 150mph. After the pass he came up to check the car out as he always does. He started to explain to my dyno operater that the silver car had 2 turbo's, one on each side (I think he spends to much time at the shop).
Then today I picked him up from grandmas in my pickup and he told me not to be sad that the silver car has two turbo's and my truck only has one. My wife just looked at me and started laughing, then she clearly told me that one turbo on my truck is enough!
Damn that Charley!!

03-13-2005, 04:34 PM
It makes 1000ft lbs at the crank, but thats only at 3800-4000.

Single 67mm garrett on 2003 Silverado SS. 6.0 engine with forged rods and pistons. I can get about 20 psi @ lower rpm, then the boost tapers off to 15 @ 5400 which is the shift point. The way I drive it everyday, the boost peaks at 15psi. The truck weighs 5516 with 3/4 tank of fuel. Runs 12.2x @110-113 at the track on dry pavement. Estimate 12.90-13.20 on wet pavement. Fuel consumption is 12-14 MPG of 93 octane or better. Alchol injection comes on @ 5psi and is ramped up to max @15psi, that tank is just shy of one gallon and will last 7-10 days.

I ordered one of those trucks Kurt, but then bought a Lightning. What kind of HP and torque numbers at the tires does it show?

That car is amazing

03-14-2005, 11:15 AM
It only makes about 45x at all 4 tires with 15psi. I never dyno it on higher boost, broke the trans once running it higher. The lightning is lighter and will be very fast with some mods, but if we race in rain or snow watch out!!

Mine is at 578 rwhp and 6XX rwtq. Good enough for 11.30's to 11.50's with slicks. I run drag radials as my normal tire and actually leaves pretty good on them, but there is NO WAY I'd race you from a stop without slicks! :seizure: I know all about awd's!

Sounds like a cool truck, and very similar to what I wanted to do with mine if I had taken it.

This is just a few of the runs Kurt made put together. He must have made 10+ pull in an hour with this truck.
