I am thinking of a new set.
what shall I do?
20's are too big. 19's in the rear are perfect, or is it overdone?

Any pictures of 18/19's

please help.

19 tires are hard to find. I'd either do a 17/18 combo or all 18s. They look good if you stagger overall diameter about 1" front to rear because of the wheel-well shape.

I personally wouldn't do a 17/18 combo, the 17's always look to small to me but hey...that's just personal opinion.
I think you'd be real happy with 18's all around.

do you care about straight line traction? If so 19's would not work well for you. they are typically hard compound and have a small hard sidewall.

Just a personal preference, but I would run 18s all around.

I have 19s all the way around on my 69 .if I had to do it all over again id go with 18s for tire availability.and price.

Another vote for 18s based on all the reasons mentioned above.

On a 68 18's without question. On a 69 well start a new thread.

I think 18s are the ticket for a street car. But if you are gonna be going to do any type of racing at all, 17s should be considered.

Okay Guys, thanks for all the advice.
I decided to go with 18-19" wheels. My car will not be a race or track car, just for cruisin around.

What size tires would be the best?

wheels will be:
18x8" (4.75 BS)
19x9" (5.5 BS)

Given the wheels sizes you've specified, I'd run 245/40-18's up front and 275/35-19's in the rear. This gives you a rear tire that is almost an inch larger in diameter (26.7") than the fronts (25.6") which will maintain similar sidewall heights front and rear. Less sidewall in the rear doesn't look right to me and you can typically tolerate a little more tire height in the back than you can in the front before rubbing becomes an issue. Anything taller than 26" up front seems to just be asking for rubbing issues, assuming your car is lowered the usual 2-3 inches at ride height.

Same sizes I was thinking of Tobin.

Camaro will have airride. Low during show, high while in drive.

Thinking of 4.75 backspacing up front and 5.5 for the rear.

what if I go with a 10"wheel in the rear? 285 or 295 tires?

Non-mini tubbed I think the biggest you can use is a 285...

But I'd love to be proved wrong.. I'm looking to do a similar setup on my 68 Airide and 285's non tubbed

Here's 18s and 19s that I think fit perfect. I'm biased as I designed it and put the wheels on it but she does look good!

I love 18/19 combos. The staggered look is great and gives it a nice and clean stance. I ran 18s on my Camaro all the way around because 18/20 was too much of a difference. It's hard to find nice wheels where they are made in 18/19 with the correct offset and width for the rear. Sure they exist, but it's difficult to find the perfect combination.

This reminds me of that "HELLAFLUSH" thread :fingersx: real nice car just might need a little massaging of those spacers and a lil wider tire in rear.

Hey Jason, you dont have to be biased to see that car looks great with those wheels. I think it looks great.. You guys did a good job picking the backspacing too. I love a fat lip on the rear and a zero offset look at the front. Zero offset at the front is best for handling also. Kinda hard to accomplish with a wide tire like you have but the wheel spokes center the tire over the wheel mounting hub. Nice to see a company thinking about the final objective. Overall a good package. Id love to see a close up of those back wheels. Its kinda deceiving on my small screen, looks like the spokes are at the outer edge, the lip, but they have a deep lip. Maybe just a reflection of that lower spoke. Are those 12" wheels?? JR

Jason,

What size tires did you use?

Thanks,
