Anyone know anything about "unlocked" cel phones?

Are they reliable, do they work on any network???? My company has given me a Blackberry, but it is through Sprint & I would like to have one of the touch screen ones, but it is only on Verizon. So an "unlocked" one, can I make it work as it was the other one on the Sprint network?

Isnt the warranty voided with an unlocked phone? I personally wouldnt bother for that reason alone

i have bought a few , mostly off of ebay and havent hed any problems. the first razr v3xx lasted about two years . and it got droped alot. welding splater like to stick to the screen tho.
