I am looking to do a full bolt on disc brake conversion on my 1967 Firebird. I know that there are many different options out there but would like to get some feedback/recommendations. I am on a budget but also want to get a decent kit that includes everything needed for the swap.
Any recommendations/advice/products to avoid?
Thanks for your help as I am a newb in this area…

Call Frank at www.gpsuperstore.com. He goes by the name Prodigy Customs as that is his other business. Great guy to deal with and has a couple different complete car kits that do front and back. I got a wilwood kit from him, even included the brake fluid.

You can't go wrong with a Wilwood system from Frank at Prodigy, or a C5/C6 system from Tobin at Kore3.com.
IMO, both systems have some some advantages over the other in various respects, unless you're shopping for real high end stuff.

Quite a few guys have used LS1/C5 stuff. You can get used calipers cheap on ebay, buy new rotors, and buy adapter brackets. That's probably the cheapest way to go but would take a little more research and looking for all the parts needed.
These kits look like a pretty good deal but can probably end up with a similar set up with factory calipers for a bit less http://www.touring-classics.com/Brake%20Kits.htm
I bought a used rear LS1 set up on ebay for $150 but the rotors need to be replaced. Figure maybe another $250 for rotors and pads. I bought front calipers for about $100, figure another $250 for rotors and pads, $100 for adapter brackets, and another $100 for hubs. That's about $1,000. Or cut down your drum hubs to fit C4 rotors and make your own brackets for the calipers and save a few bucks.
It's probably worth the extra money to just buy a whole kit, but if you really want to save some money you can get some decent used stuff. There are quite a few good threads about brakes on here.

i recently upgrade my brakes for rear disc system coming out a 80 T/A. works better than drum (that were redone). you need master cylinder, booster and prop valve from 1980. easy to find in your country. really tight budget. :)
i add russell brakes lines, reman front calipers (but 1975 ones, pistons are bigger than late model gen2) and drill front disc.

I did a front drum to disc wap on my 69 firebird. I got the kit complete from master power brakes. Its stock stuff but i was pleased with everything. works well.
