high, my names jeff im 18 and ive always thought about building my truck like you guys do but i never knew what it was called, ive been lurking on her for a while now and the site is awesome.

i own a 1972 ford f-100 ranger xlt, i have had it for about two years now and i love it but i got tired of the way it drives and think modernizing it would make it one hell of a fun truck.

i will post some pics of my truck later when i can find them or take some new ones.
heres a list of my build ideas.

turn the 360f.e into a 390 or 410, not sure on that one yet but it is keeping the f.e. to be different.
convert it to efi, either multi point or throttle body.
replace the stock i-beams with the front suspension off a crown vic.
get the ride hieght to about 3"-4" inches in front and 5"-6" in back.
some 17" rims that will probly changes as well though.
modern interior with bucket seats.
chop the top about 3"
roll cage integrated into the cab, you know bars in the pilliars to save room and make the interior look better.
swap on 69 front clip so i can have that awsome aluminum grile instead of the crappy plastic inserts i have now.
the list could go on forever since im constantly thinking of mods i think would look good on it.

Let's see some photos of that rig.

One of the first "big-time" nationally covered Pro-Touring vehicles was a 1957 Chevy Pickup so don't let anyone tell you that it can't or shouldn't be done.

That twin-I-beam thing is going to hafta go though.

im looking for them but all i can find are interior pics, its a rusty s.o.b. but it has sentimental value since it was my first vehicle.

the i beams are going for sure, im not sure about what to go with for suspension but im not rich so it will probly be the crown vic suspension, i have seen it used to lower a truck on www.fordification.com (http://www.fordification.com), i have been a member there since i got the truck but have never seen any trucks built in this style so it should be different.

Sounds like a project after my own heart! I've got a '74 F100 Ranger that I want to pull out of our barn (sitting there for 20 years) and do a "patina" pro-touring job with. It'll probably end up just being a cool "patina" street truck, but I'll be looking forward to your build for inspiration.

well, mine will take a long time, since im a poor boy lol.
everything i do will be low buck, nothing fancy but it will be mine:)

my truck is a different body style than your 74, mines a bumpside where as yours is a dent side.
