Is this possible? I have searched but have found little info on this subject. I believe that there was some info on the old board but I am unable to find it. I want to convert a 68 GTO to front disc brakes. Will the discs and hardware from a 78 T/A work? Thanks for any input.

Front discs from a 78 T/A will work, but you'll have to turn the bottom ball joint down 0.080" to fit into your lower control arms. The 78 T/A used 11" rotors, you can get 12" rotors if you get a spindle from a 77 - 94 Buick full size or wagon or similiar car. The only trick with the Buick 12 " rotors is the bolt pattern is larger than your GTO. 12" rotors from a 88 - 92 1LE Camaro will fit the Buick spindle with the proper bolt pattern.

This swap is known as the tall spindle conversion and will improve your suspension geometry, but you might have a hard time aligning your front end. I have offset cross shafts and still have 1" of shims. Upper control arms from Global West, Hotchkis will solve this and are designed for the tall spindle conversion.

A set of Camaro ball joints are needed, which are (lower) TRW P/N 10277 (Moog K-6145) and (upper) 10268 (Moog K5208).
The outer tie rod ends used are TRW ES2033R/Moog ES2033RL (1964-70). The tie rod were originally used with 1978-88 GM A/G intermediates.

The 12" front rotors only work with 15" or larger wheels.

Thanks for the info, I'll read all of it. Any alignment specs available for this mod?

I don't have any alignment specs, it is a popular mod so maybe somebody else can help you out.
I forgot to mention the bearing sizes. There are two outer bearing sizes, 0.750" and 0.850". The spindles with the larger bearings are the better ones, and are the only spindles that fit the 1LE 12" rotors. I have found the later year cars have the larger bearings, the 78 T/A could have the smaller bearings.
