So , I have a huge collection of Old Car Magazines.
I'm talking about HotRod , Chevy Hi-Performance , Popular HotRodding , CarCraft , and Super Chevy... going back to the early 8O's.
I don't need them anymore.
What can I do with them ?
I hate to just throw them in the Landfill.
The obvious answer is to try and sell them on Ebay.
( They probably aren't worth anything really. )
Or recycle them at the county recycling station.
Or give them to a motorsports collector.
Has anybody got any other ideas ??

Take them to a Half-Price Books or similar. You won't get much $ for them but you will pass them along to the next guy to read.

I finally gave up myself, and recycled mine when we moved to Florida. I haven't missed them.

Same thing here, Jeff. I have Hot Rod, Hop Up, Corvette News, etc. and they go back to the '50's. Some of Dad's old collection.

I hate to throw them out if SOMEONE , ANYONE has a use for them.
I don't necessarily want any money for them.
I just want to see them go to good use ???

I'll take any Car Craft mags you have that have my car in it. The project 78 Malibu they built. I believe it was around 2004. I don't remember what issues exactly. I do know that one of the covers had something to do with fuel injection on it. I know that's vague but that's all I remember.

I use to save old magazine for future reference. Now I flip through them, and then put them in the recycling bin. I realized I never used them for future reference. :)

I keep all of mine. Technology does change, but that doesn't stop me from referencing them for ideas, tech, anything.
Another option is to scan all the articles and save them on cd. Time consuming, but the information is never lost.
Much of the tech stuff can be found online, but a lot of the individual cars can't be. If I need an idea for an s-10, I know I have a mag in storage that has 15 different front end swaps. I'm adding a console to my pickup this year, and you can bet I've gone through all my truck'in magazines for design ideas.
A lot of you guys are probably into resto as far as the body panels or interior, so I can see where you'd have little use for them, but not me. I can't stand leaving anything stock.
P.S. I might be interested in the PHR's if you don't mind getting me a shipping price. Hell, maybe the Hot Rods and/or Super Chevy too, but I don't know how many issues you're talking... PM me?

Thanks Jeff I appreciate it. I believe there were a few issues during the build up. Anyone else looking to get rid of any old Car Craft issues with that build I'll take them. Or any issues featuring G-bodies from any mag you could send my way.

The pile just got bigger and bigger. Occasionally, I'd move them around when I needed the space. Life is simpler now. I read them, then straight to the recycle bin.

I cut out the "new" car ads from the 60's and 70's & 80's. mags. One page will sell for more than the whole thing.iI sold some Buick GN/GNX ads,Mustand and Camaro ads at a car show.People like to display it at shows. Also accessory ads sell well.Anyone remember the Hurst Lighting Rod Shifter? A guy with a 1983 Hurst Olds wanted the ad.

I'd like the ones my car was in if you still have them. My home was burglarized, flooded by the water feed for the fridge they stole and then then black mold took over and wrecked everything left. Pretty much everything organic was lost including most of the house.
Finally have new sheetrock and I've gotta rebuild the house since ins didn't cover much. Anyway Aug 05 and Sept 05 PHR and Sept 06 Hot Rod were the ones my car was in.
