View Full Version : Newbie; here's my 72 C10
New to PT, love the site! Here are few pictures of my ride. It still needs more upgrades to be officially PT but it all takes time right!
I drove this truck in college and after until it got put aside for something more economical. After it sat in the yard for a few years I decided to build into the truck I really wanted. So I ditched the long wheelbase frame for a short one and looked around until I found a short fleet bed. During the build I found a earlier front clip so I changed over to the 67 sheetmetal.
I went with an Air Ride Tech kit, replaced the 10bolt with a narrower 9" from a Bronco, gave the bed a slight tub and shaved the extra stuff off the body.
Future plans are big brakes, a hard tonneau and I would like to upgrade to lq4/4L80 someday, anyway here it is from the starting point until now...

Well done. The SWB conversion looks good and the stance is perfect.
Thanks guys. Right now its mostly all show and not much go, but hopefully I can work on phase two next winter or so.

18x8 TT2s with 245/55s and 20x10 with 315/35s. I wish I had gone with 20s on the front too. With my 8" narrower rearend I was able to minimize the BS on the rears to 3" so I could have the phat lip :smoke: .

I got a Ford 9" from an early Bronco, which is 58.75" wide and 8" narrower than the stock 10 bolt. I need to find some big discs for it, because it looks silly to have a 10" drum behind a 20" wheel. I called a few Bronco shops about discs but they suggested I weld the bigger end bearing setup onto that rearend before I buy brakes...

Well I might not have room, but I bought a 68 shortbed. Again, nice truck. I might have to contact you about your suspension mods.
