This weekend I was a participant at Autorama, where I met Chip who was setting up Terracuda. As I was looking at the car we made eye contact and he stood up and made me feel like I was the only one in the building.....He asked if I had a car in the show and where it was.Not thinking that a person as busy as him would EVER see it. He signed my hat and I went on my way...............Sunday as I was at the awards show with my autorama info card ...which you have to show to get an award,as I sat back down from receiving an award my wife and I notice a rendering and note from Chip on the back of my card which had been laying on the floor by the car all weekend.........talk about goose bumps .......The note says Todd Great job with a rendering done with a sharpie and signed !!!! how friggen cool is this guy?????:worship:

I once heard him say "everyone who shares this hobby is a friend." Him and Troy put their pant's on one leg at a time just like everyone.
Really cool you got to met him.

I saw him in the airport in Phoenix with his wife. He was sitting right behind me facing the other way chowing down on a burrito. I waited till he was finished and politely asked him if he was Chip Foose. We talked a little about cars and his current show Overhaulin'. He was super polite, shook my hand, introduced me to his wife and said he was coming home from a charity event. I mentioned Boyd Coddington while we spoke. He said nothing even remotely negative. He is a true class act.

I wasn't intentionally correcting your grammar, I just didn't know if you knew Boyd was deceased.
carry on.

Chip is really an asset to the car scene as a whole. He is so down to earth, friendly and more than willing to take time to talk to you and explain things. I'd love to sit down and have a beer and yarn with him after meeting him last year!

Thought you guys would like to know I also met Troy and he was very busy and still made time to talk............Very nice guy . Mitch Lanzini was also very down to earth,Mike Curtis former Boyds employee also seemed surprised when my wife asked him for an autograph,he said his new buisness was going well......Last but not least Scott from Scotts hot rods made my wife and I laugh our asses off.

It's great to hear the positives about people when nowadays it's so much more popular to talk shcnit. Modern day role models for car people.

i got to meet chip a few years back at his shop through my uncles friend who does a lot of work with him. Great guy, got to shoot the **** with him for about an hour even after he was on the overhaullin set all day. Let me sit on his bike (he can build one badass bike too!) and brought me around the shop.I tried purchasing a shirt and hat from his shop and he wouldnt let me pay for it. Once again, great guy heres some pics i took while i was there. The mustang was the guy on overhaullin in the wheelchair

I met Chip as well. He is as everyone says, one of the nicest guys in the hobby and a true talent for sure.
Met him a couple of years ago and along with signing a bunch of stuff and posing for pictures, he also signed the dash of my Camaro...he's my hero! Very Cool Guy.
Just a side note: Chip was here a couple of weeks ago for the World of Wheels Show signing autographs. There must have been 200+ people waiting in line that day, glad I already had mine. LOL!

Is Overhaul'in still on? I have nothing against Foose, the show just got stale. It just became another restoration show after a while. In the earlier seasons they implemented a bunch of unique ideas like when he made that cherry shaped air cleaner wing nut for the Cherry Nova, or when he put the Magnum front end on the Chrystler 300 (or was it vice versus). Little custom details like that are what made the vehicles neat and the show interesting.
Then there's the opposite extreme, "Pimp my Ride." I watch it. Once in a blue moon they do something that looks good, but I wouldn't let them touch my car. Then again, I wouldn't let Chip Foose touch my car. It isn't that I have issues with him, I just want it done my way.

Nice to know that the top builders in the business act like they are one of us. Now if Hollywood people would act this way. I have to say that yes I have met a few Hollywoods stars that are down to earth, but there are too many that are not.

ChiP RuleS! But, there is not so much, anything special about him? I have never really met an AsS, that has that much talent. It'S usually the ones that can not and never will, get it; TheY are usually haterS and way above everyone, lolol.
LooK at Michael, LisA and Frank SerafinE(in that order, lolol sorry FranK),ToM NelsoN, RidE rideS TroY, Steve'O at TwisT, Jake'S RoD ShoP, JP(IImuCH Fabrication) RinG BroS, Pretty much everybody hanging a banner on the right. I have been around since there were only 5 or 6 sponsers on right. Now there are many? EverY one will BenD over backwards to be polite, helpful and still very much down to earth car enthusiats. Nobody would like FoosE if he was an AsS? WhaT would being an AsS get him? NothinG, nothing at all. CooL CaR BuilderS share a love with car enthusiast's that simply can not be duplicated. They love what they do and it shows in what they do.

I disagree with the last.............Its not just that he is helpful,or nice but the fact that he is so busy with so many things and he finds the time to do something special for someone that will not EVER be a paying customer.......The fact that he even took the time to look at my car is impressive to me!! I know how busy my life is and cant imagine his.:seizure:
