i am going to run a rocket wheel 18x9 when they come out in april. i am going to put a 255/45r18 on my 69 gto
Erik, The 305 on 9" rim would be a tight squeeze. I'm not saying you can't get on there but I wouldn't suggest it on that size rim. I would say the 305 should be run on a 10 or 11 inch wide rim to fit properly.
When your ready for a set of the Rocket Racing Wheels we can get a set heading your way.
Thanks Tim

Nitto recommends 9.5 - 11.5 wheel width for that tire.
I've had those exact tires on 18 x 9.5 w/ 5.5 bs on a '70 Chevelle. I looked good but a 10" wheel would be a better choice imo.

I run the 305/45/18 on 18x10s. Had to roll the wheel lip and message the inner wheel wells. Very tight. 295/45/18 on an 18x10 works w/o mods if it's centered properly. Make sure you measure alot and get the back spacing perfect.

I always run that 305 on a 10.
Thanks for the info, can someone recomend a tire that would fill out the wheel wells nicely and work with the back space offered by rocket wheels i think 5.5 is the most they offer with there 18 by 9 wich is the widest they sell.I would like the widest and tallest tire that would fit. Thanks again for the help.

I am going to be running 275/40-18's on my Olds Custom Cruiser. I have been told it's the bigest tire that looks right on a 9 inch wide rim.

Here it is next to the 255/60-15's I am running now.
