There is a new roadcourse / condominium community that is opening in North,Georgia.
It's called Atlanta Motorsports Park

Maybe we could get an event together for this location at some point .
It's gonna' be a 2.77 mile roadcouse !
So hopefully we can put something together in the future and rent this place all to ourselves.

The staff is very friendly too.
I've been in touch about course rental.

Course rental costs around $5000 per day , depending on our insurance needs and safety equipment needs.
So , get 50 participants at $100 each and we've got our own private track day !
( Not just a few laps or a couple of 30 minute sessions , but ALL DAY ! )

Yes this is the one. This track is no where close to being passed by the City of Dawsonville. It is a great idea and a great location, just behind the Elliott Compound, but has been met head on with lots of opposition. It was tabled until the April council meeting just to get the ball rolling. Look for more tabled time due to studies not being complete. If this concept even gets passed I would be surprised and I would say if it does it would be atleast 2011 before being opened. We are hoping that it gets passed, it would be a blast.

I just hope the zoning goes through and the build it !

Here's an update:
I just talked to Jeremy Porter of Atlanta Motorsports Park.

They had to re-design part of the track for zoning reasons.
So , the track itself should be done by the end of the 3rd quarter of 2010.
I hope we can have the Peach State Musclecar Challenge there in the Spring of 2011.

Jeremy is very receptive to the idea of us using the track for a track day event .
He really wants our involvement.
He really wants to sopport enthusiasts such as ourselves..
